edouble has already been scratch building one, so that made me lose interest in it haha. Apparently the only Sherman he hasn't done is a Russian Lend Lease, and he'd have one of those done before me, so I can forget about that too.

This M-51 is so incorrect, I'd never buy one. I have built my own which is correct and am now building a different version with A1 upper hull. Check War Room for the response I got back from Tamiya. The Tamiya has incorrect stowage, does not even have the big travel lock on the back deck (none whatsoever) and has US style jerry cans. I may eventually buy a turret for future IDF tanks, as they are a lot of work to build.

figured it was something on line....I note that when you click onto the main photo, it shrinks down to a decent size.

Hey, I sent a note off to Tamiya over this release, My biggest fear is that poor sales will allow the marketing department to claim victory in their decision to low ball the effort put into this tank, and send the wrong message to corporate. As modellers we have to let them know the reason we are not buying this tank is because it is an inaccurate rehash of an old kit that they are charging top dollar for. If this was a Comet or Cromwell of typical Tamiya construction, I would have bought one.

All yours bro! I would be happy to see that on the field in someone else's stable.

Read the response from my letter to Tamiya in War Room. They agreed to my entire complaints regarding inaccuracies and appologized for Tamiya's sad market-minded strategy, although they knew it was wrong to including the name "Super Sherman".

When something this bad comes out, we should all write in and let them know. Granted, the hull can be modelled into something representative, but when one pays that amount for a model, it would be fair to demand that it be accurate.

This Tamiya tank does not represent any particular M-51 and is a conglomeration of older and newer models with incorrect stowage locations, incorrect jerry cans, (Israeli jerry cans are very similar to German) total absence of the rear deck gun travel lock, mounts for the 105 How travel lock are still on the bow plate, no IDF ID plate on the bow, horn bracket not enclosed and of course the bogus name Super Sherman, which relates only to the M-1 (M-4A1 w/76mm and T-23 turret), not to any M-50 or M-51. .

YHR, I know you also wrote them,,...this was meant for the other guys who maybe were not familiar with the inaccuracies and the war we have started to try and set Tamiya's management straight..
