Left Stick Drive Servo Elevation

Has anyone who uses the left stick on their Tx's to do all the driving of the Tamiya tanks ever do a servo elevation mod, and how did you wire it all up since the third channel is not used for elevation.

Well, it appears that not many do it this way. No worries, I was able to find out that the Dionysus camera positioner i am using is no good. the servo works with the wiring info from the HEAT site. However, I am not completely happy with the operational sequence of this setup. Now this may be due to the fact that I am hooked directly too the servo until i get a new positioner, but It is very hard to control the MG and Main gun functions while trying to raise or lower the gun. <div> Again this may have something to due with needing the servo slowed down, and i wont know until i get the new part. </div><div> After all this, I still like the HL elevation unit the best. To fit a small enough servo in the Pershing turret you must use a micro. One of these with enough torque to raise the gun is somewhat costly and as I said, I am not completely happy with the results anyway. May just need some more fine tuning.</div>

I've done the conversion on both my Tamiya Tiger and Pershing per the HEAT article and using the Dioysus Camera Positioner.. What radio are you using? I use Spektrums and have the gun tied to one of the switch on top. I will try to post some picts tomorrow.

I am using one of the new Hobby people Areosport 5's. It's a great radio but like i said the issue i'm having is due to no speed control of the servo at the moment until i get a new camera positioner. the one i have is an ealy version. the new ones are capable of handling more input voltage which i beleive was the problem. The first gen ones would just cook off from the higher voltage needed to run the High torque servos.
