silly movie, critics needed
This is a movie I made with my tiger. It's silly and not too long. I'm looking for some critics to help me fine tune my filming techinque. Please be gentle.
The idea was to make a film that would look as real as I could get with a small budget ( $15 bucks for beer ) using 1/16 scale tanks. I plan to expand on this idea so any good ideas will be welcome.

I slowed the film speed by 1/2 and put it in black n white so the yellow flowers would not stand out. The lucky shot at the end was a very lucky shot.

the black and white was pretty cool. maybe throw some scale size props in there to give it more scale, like some houses or something of that nature. i like the trail you were driving down, is that just a regular footpath or is it a track you made for the tank?

I made the roads for my tanks.
This was an experiment, I hope to add props like a nebelwerfer and a kubelwagen later.

I have a small digital camera and I got a small ( 6 inch ) tripod for it. I taped it on the back of the tiger with masking tape so I would not mess up my paint job. It worked great.

I'm happy I inspired you.
I do have some scale dudes but they only look good in still pix and in vids from far away because they just "stand there" while everything eles moves. My goal is a convoy movie shot from the top ofan AFV.

still though if the guys are just standing there thats fine, then you can see them getting knocked over by the gun. i just had another funny idea, remeber how carnivals have the ducks that you shoot with the bb guns at the booths, it would be funny to do something similar to that using the tanks gun. that might be something i even try doing with my bulldog

The target I shoot at the end is an empty propane bottle. I have painted several up as airsoft targets, they make a nice ping when you score. I am also experimenting with smoke bombs and my old pan/tiger hull. I have some nice smoke shots but they are not in a complete movie yet.

Vary good start and a good investment in beer.
The paths look vary good and have a scale look / width to them. I would dust up or weather the tank some . Try changing the camera angle on the tank and some low level camera, passes.
You could even place the camera slightly hidden buy the rocks and get a scouts point of view as it drives by. The Slowing down of the film looks vary good as well.
Something to add scale would be a good idea, buildings, road block a jeep on the side of the road ?? If you are going to add figures keep them back a little so not to show them as toys and being too still. Low camera angels and not jurky birds eye veiw shots. Have fun and post videos.. Thanks..

OK, so here is the first movie I made. It is more a mix of shots. I use smoke bombs and scale dudes but the dudes are not meant to move.

Thanks, I will post some more vids as I get the edits done. You all's positive feedback is great.
Yes, Tunisia in the summer and Lenningrad in the winter. See my vid in the thread " tanks in snow".
Can you tell I just learned how to post movies?

Excellent work! I like to get my camera a little lower, about the height of a scale figure if you know what I mean. Makes the tanks look bigger!

I use windows movie maker, nuth'n fancy.
I measured my trypod, it's actualy 3 1/4 inches tall and puts my lens at eye level for a scale dude.
I put this together from some clips tonight, enjoy.

Hope it has enough scale props...

i just thought of something that would really make your videos pop out, add some film grain to the videos along with the white dots that randomly pop up in older reel to reel projection movies. adding something like that along with the black and white would give it a nice vintage look. just a thought

I tried the graney old film look but the software made it look too fake for my taste. I do think it would be cool to mix color and black n white clips with some clips looking olderthan others.

Very well done, I like the fact that all the tanks that are rolling are not hot rodding ,like your set up. what are u using on the knocked out panther for smoke. U are using a small tripod I think I read that in the post that you have secured to the back of the tank, how is it secured and do you have a picture of that, your set-up.very good keep them rolling.Chief
