HL Stug III Gun Removal?
Is anyone able to explain how to remove the gun from a HL Stug III.
It looks to me like once the screws are removed that the only way to get it out is to spring the trunion mounts and pull the gun out to the rear. However, that seems a bit drastic, it looks like there isn't a lot of "spring" in the mounting and it might just break.
There are two screws in each side of the gun just behind the mantlet ae but you can only get at the lower one on each side, the uper ones are blocked by the gun mount.
It is sort of a mechanical puzzle and I don't want to get heavy-handed and break something.
Usually, I am challenged on electronic stuff but can figure out the mechanical stuff, but this one has me baffled

Boy I wish I could help. It has been so long since I worked on the stug. There is a trick, and it is pretty slick of I could remember!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry.
Just know it does come apart without breaking.
If the search function worked, there was a thread from a couple of years ago that showed how to do it.

Thanks for posting that, but I don't see any small screws under the mantlet.

I was able to get the gun out without messing things up.
It would be easier to show someone how to doit in person, than write a description.

Were you peeking.
Were you peeking.
The deal was, buy it in Sept.,once it wasit delivered, give it a 15 minute check out run, then box it back up until Christmas. That way, if there were any problems, it would be easy to address right away, rather than come back 4 months later to deal with the.
It ran great in the test, it is an air soft version and is a stong shooter.
No surpeise but I know I'll like what I am getting and have had months to build up the anticipation, already have the decals for it
