IMHO it is a poor setup, needing to glue the hub caps in place. They should have been machined for a solid billet of aluminium with the detail being the only part not machined. Needless over engineering if you ask me, and please dont.

another thing if the caps were made of solid billet aluminium you would have to machine the details(more cost) and would not be able to cast the details in the caps

Viper, I am assuming that the bad press was the post I made? Brother, I am calling it as I see it. My complaint was simply the fact that the wheels came in a different form than advertised. Simple as that. Assembling the wheels is nothing difficult and I would hope they will not come apart...they are one piece after all. So, really it is not bad press, just an honest call on what I purchased.

Here is a little update on the WECOHE Late Tiger 1 wheels,I have found that Loctite makes a Super Glue that is outdoor safe(changing temps) and impact resistant for the instalation of the shades and caps , this is one of the best glues i have used yet nice dispencer and has been holding up well droped one of the wheels on a concrete floor and no damage or movement of the shades or caps. also i have been using Dupli-Color primers and adhesion promoter for painting all my metal parts(don't use the prep on plastic) andthe cost is less than 5 bucks for 11oz rattle can.just getting started on my Late Tamiya Tiger 1 build more to come.

Well, what i meant by a solid billet, which really isn't the proper term would have been just a solid cast block or "billet' as it is called, with the detail already on the inside of the mold. When cast the wheel Billet would come out with that detail in place. then they would just need to machine the rest of the wheel assembly. Which they need to do any way. I just think they could have made the detail and wheel assembly in one piece, that's all. It just seems like one extra step that is not needed.
I'm also not bashing Wecohe, they have some extremely nice products, so don't get so defensive.
Not every one is going to have the same experience or opinion as everyone else.

these are the best steel wheels out their the asiatam wheels are 2 piece and glued together and wobble rite out the box and have no bushing just an axel for $99 and the detail sucks. just stating facts not being defensive, and their is always two sides to every story, yes you can make better wheels maybe but at what cost? here is the late tiger i will be modeling

"cast block or "billet' as it is called"

"Billet" is one of the most over and misused terms when referring to semi finished metal products. It is so
ambiguous, colloquial, that it is better to say bar stock or semi finished casting instead. I often have no clue
what someone is referring to when they say "billet" other than the products of steel rolling mills.

Just a thought.

You will really enjoy the Wecohe wheels, I used the Tamiya KT plastic wheel to detail the inside of the Wechoe wheels too. These are really great performing wheels and will look great on the tank!

Again, Viper. I AM NOT bashing Wecohe. They are most likely THE BEST Late Roadwheel on the market. I do not dispute that.
The disputes where about what Joe asked them for and what he got. I just exclaimed an opinion on how the entire wheel could have been made in one piece,
with out the need to glue the detail caps inplace. From the pics you and joe have posted, they look very good. just some observations on the construction of the wheels.  I simply  expressed an opinion which for now is still allowed on this server. if we cannot all be able to express our opinions then there's not much use for this forum then is there.
