HL tank question

RE: HL tank question
If you want to get a HL tank, get one with the S&S option. It is the latest version. If you want one that has been gone through to make sure everything works like it is supposed to, get one from RCTankwars. Phil goes through every one of the tanks he sells or upgrades to make sure of it.

RE: HL tank question
The Panther G and Jagdpanther are the newest ones in their lineup.
Phil will do you good. He backs what he sells.

RE: HL tank question
Just make sure you get the S&S version, otherwise there are no sounds and speed and control are very limited. There is no building on HL tanks and they come out of the box ready to run, although they all need cosmetic work to make them look like the tanks they repesent. Too many Chinese toy maker ideas and little inaccuracies that should be corrected if you want your tank to be historically accurate. The Pz III is very well made and can be easilly converted into various other models as well as being a good runner. The M-41 is also a very good runner, although being out of scale with the rest of the 1;16 models. Pershing and Tigers are very good also and from what I read on the forum, the new Panther is supposed to be good ( I have not had one) but avoid the earlier Panther.
You will no doubt get many more replies, good luck.

I want to get the King Tiger ( coming soon ) , T 80 ( I heard coming too ) and M 41 .
Is the M 41 SS version ?
Can I install metal transmissions and tracks on any of the above to make them more realistic.
also where is the best deals on those tracks ??

Go through Phil @ RC Tankwars to get set up with what's right as far as metal boxes etc. The M-41 or Pershing, don't need metal tracks..they are pretty good as is.

RE: HL tank question
I like my jagdpanther and it's been very reliable. The panther is a bit newer (but avoid the old "pantiger" model that was a pantherish-looking top grafted on to the tiger hull. Really only the completely web-based RC superstores that are trying to still sell these turkeys), and like the jagdpanther, many of the surface detail parts (spare track, tools, cables) are separate and you apply them. Makes painting and detailing much more enjoyable. Mato is a Canadian distributor and markets the panther with cast metal gearboxes. Not as precision made as the machined steel gears but OK after some running in. The instructions for that process are in this site's FAQ section.
