Tanks in the Snow
Just another video I shot today. The quality is crap, but I had fun making it. The snow was too dense and clogged my tracks up easily.

Looks and sounds great. Snow that deep by ratio would slow up a 1;1 scale tank, so yours did OK. Like the pipes....I generally don't like the GHB and sold mine, keeping my other 7, but your recording almost makes them sound musical.

Winter battle field!!
Nice!!!
Tip on the snow running put your tank outside for about 20min or so so it gets outdoor temps because if you don't the tanks temprature is hot as your house and when you drive in the snow it melts all in the road wheels and tracks and everything sticks and clumps up!!

That isn't music Pah co chu puk, but the sound of bearings failing in the T-34.

Oh I see. And all these years I had thought we Scot played music like that to make the foe's knees knock, motors quit, and their berrings fail.
Who could stand in the face of burley men in kilts comming at you playing music like that.

Yes, bag pipes are fun, but kinda sound like rod bearing failure. If your question is a test, my guess would be similiarly cross dressed men from either modern day London, Amsterdam or Berlin?

John, you have obviously missed the classic British 'Carry On' comedy film "Carry On Up The Kyber" - Otherwise you would understand the power of the Scottish Regiments and their kilts....
Nevermind, happy New Year from a Redcoat anyway

RE: Tanks in the Snow
Mart, Here is a toast to to the Normandy Bagpiper Bill Millin, a Scottish bagpiper who played highland tunes as his fellow commandos landed on a Normandy beach on D-Day and lived to see his bravado immortalized in the 1962 film “The Longest Day,” died in August 2010 in a hospital in the western England county of Devon.
He was 88.
Mr. Millin was a 21-year-old private in Britain’s First Special Service Brigade when his unit landed on the strip of coast the Allies code-named Sword Beach, near the French city of Caen at the eastern end of the invasion front chosen by the Allies for the landings on June 6, 1944.
And who doesn't enjoy military bagpipe marching bands...red coats or not...

RE: Tanks in the Snow
Thanks for the video Tim. I liked your Bonsai evergreen trees. Your wife was probably ready to call the men in the white uniforms with the big net when you started to shovel the lawn. Send more video south Okay. It keeps us motivated during the winter. I think I saw the Chosin Res. in the background there. I run my tanks quite a bit in the snow, mainly during ski trips with the kids. I only use the Tamiyas if the conditions are perfect. Otherwise we run the H L tanks. Steve was spot on with the hint of letting the tank acclimate before running. Otherwise the warm tank attracts packed snow and ice like a California airport attracts Hari-Krishnas. A bunch of us posted out best tanks in snow hints last winter. Three things to remember, keep your battery packs warm in your house or inside pocket until driving. A cold battery puts out less power. Spray a little furniture polish on the bottom of the tanks and/or tracks to eliminate snow build-up. If you drivng in a shaded area the snow will be harder and drier. I hope this helps you enjoy it more in the snow. I'll be heading north to Lake George in a few weeks for some skiing and snowmobiling and hope to have a few battles with some fellow NEAD members and the growing group of RC tankers there.
Bob
PS DO NOT drive your tank on a road that has been salted. It will corrode your tank in not time and you will truly regret it.

RE: Tanks in the Snow
I have a friend who plays the pipes at dawn when we camp out in the woods. I love to take a walk while he plays and listen to the music in the trees. It's haunting.
I must find some pipe music for my next tank movie.
