Porsche Tiger I Build
Hey,
After finally deciding on getting a Jagdtiger, I was thinking about what my next tank could be. My dream is to one day have a Jagdtiger, Kingtiger vom Henschel, Kingtiger vom Porsche, a Sturmtiger, and a Tiger 1. I already have a Henschel KT and I am getting a Jagdtiger in the next few days, so that narrows it down a bit. Lol. Anyways, bak on subject, I plan on making a replica of Tiger 003 which was (I believe) the only Porsche prototype Tiger 1 to have seen combat action. This will be my FIRSTcustom build, so any information you can give me on how to take apart a Henglong Tiger, remove the internals, and then re-assemble them in the Porsche would be helpful. The porsche Tiger will be made from plastic and as accurate as I can get it. Can any of you tell me what type of tools I will need to do this and ext?
Thanks
Zack
Here is some info. on the Porsche Tiger 1 in a nutshell:
electric and gasoline engines
tracks drove by the rear
forward mounted turret
piece of crap. lol prone to breakdown. when i mean prone I mean like over 50% of the time it wouldnt run
cool

RE: Porsche Tiger I Build
Hi Zack;
Christian Ludwig makes an aluminum chassis, and a plastic upper hull for the VK 45.01 (P). It is pricey, but beautiful workmanship. You may get some ideas for the one you want to make in plastic from his webpage on it:

Also, Hooben is rumored to be bringing out an Elefant sometime this year, and that might give you an affordable headstart on the chassis. -Mike
