Mato Sherman Gun, Scale Proportion?
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the gun on the Mato Sherman is of scale size/proportions with the rest of the tank?
To my inexperienced eye, it looks a bit larger than it should but I am the first to admit I could be wrong, there.

While were at it, are there any other comments on it as far as other accuracy questions or mechanical/electronic problems.
(I tried the search feature but it didn't work out too well)

RE: Mato Sherman Gun, Scale Proportion?
I know that the barrel is not to scale. What some guys do, is cut the outer part of the barrel off and use the metal inner only. This makes it more to scale. Another option is to buy the aftermarket barrel. I know WD carries them.
As for anything else, the turret sits too high. It is quite and easy mod to cut it down to the correct height. The only other thing some have said is the road wheels are a little large, but they are passable.

Wrong suspension for Korea, unless you want to put a 105 howitzer and dozer on it. Only VVSS Shermans in Korea were a few Canadian and a few Army and Marine dozer tanks. Rest were Easy 8s. Everything else has been addressed. Al mine are Israeli, so gun tubes have all been changed. All mine have been converted to HL electronics...much better running.

Looks like if I want to do one in that time/location, I'll stick with the M26 Pershing.

rear view
Pretty easy conversion...replace the 90mm with a standard 105 How..beef up armor on the mantlet, move the coax down below the gun, add the travel lock on the blower housing with the coresponding lock on the bottom of the mantlet....make a muffler for the rear, relocate the phone box. Move the TC's cal 50 to a bracket over the gunners' periscope (same as the M-46). Most of these were really beat up, (converted from older M-26s) and used a lot of oil, so I have a number of oil cans on the back.
