M46 conversion
Quite some time ago I read somewhere that someone was planning to produce a
kit to convert the HL Pershing to an M46.Does such a kit now exist and where could I find it?

RE: M46 conversion
No luck on the M-46. Joel Labow spent months and made two masters and tried everywhere to get someone to produce the kit...but no interest. I supplied him with a lot of photos & data from my years working with the tank, so he sent me one set and built his with the other set. His is on a Tamiya and mine is HL with El mod. So at present, there are only two accurate M-46s in 1;16 scale. It's a shame, as I have had a number of people inquire about the tank and availability of a conversion, but since the M-46 was used only in korea 1951-58, except for a few used for training post Korean War, there isn't much interest. Turkey bought somewhere around 400 of them and a Turkish brigade south of us had M-46s, but that's it. An injection mold kit is the only way...it would take months to make that rear deck.

RE: M46 conversion
Thanks for the info Pattoncommander, You have a beautiful M46. I wish I could buildone but that rear deck would be a killer not to mention
having to raise the sprocket and tranny outdrive. Was thinking of building an M47 since it was the first tank I ever drove. modelbob71

Very interesting...my first tank was an M-41, then E8 to M-26,46 and lots of time on 47s. Except for a totally worthless RFR and assinine ammo stowage, the M-47 was a very fine tank. It would maneuver as easy as the M-41 and had plenty of spunk. I have a driver's wobble stick in my hobby room. email me.

When I read your post I wondered "What the heck could be so hard about the rear deck"? Then I clicked to enlarge the photo.........
OMG! That could cause brain damage.
