Part of me wants to say something sympathetic but most of me wants to say this is simply a new
internet twist to panhandling.

Is this a new trend now that once a member subscribes he or she is going to apply to the good nature of others
and ask for things?

Call me heartless but in my mind this is a variation of the old theme that models are expensive and those who set the prices are unfair. I deserve this or that and it's not fair. Sometimes we just can't afford those nice toys.

I want a Audi R8, maybe I should go to an Audi forum to see if anyone has a slightly used one they don't want anymore...

Sad thing is, I actually probably have some of what you want as I've replaced some of the original heng long stuff
with better electronics and receivers. I may have missed it but did you include in your request an offer to at least pay for
postage??

I can certainly appreciate being out of a job, many people I know have gotten let go, top performers in many cases. I figure
it's just a matter of time before the corporate grim reapers look in my direction. But as was said with the other guy shouldn't
hobbies take a back seat to life's basics? Or training and education to position yourself better to get a better longer lived job?

I realize in the grand scheme of you aren't asking for a lot but it just bugs me..

Holy cow!
I am absolutely amazed you would post this begging for free parts. I thought the other guy was a one-off wacko and after the business he caught you post asking for free stuff too.
Read every response he got and they now apply to you.
We are truly becoming a society of 'where's my free stuff too'. What's a winter layoff? Does that mean you don't try to find a job now for the winter?
Amazing.

Once when I was a child my mom stopped at the bank and I got a "free" lollipop from the bank teller.

Arent you guys in NY getting hit with big snow and stuff? Get out and shovel some snow for a few extra bucks. There is always something you could do for some money... Collect some aluminum cans to turn in? There has to be something you could do?

Well that attitude will get you far. You could have avoided the grief by clearly stating you were looking to buy unneeded parts.

What was so difficult about that?

Many of of us, myself included are loathe to throw anything away because ' it might be good for something' and just throw
them into that proverbial parts box. After reading your tirade I was tempted to throw them into the trash...

Hi DB,

I read your post as looking for second hand unwanted items. Unfortunately it would cost more for me to post anything than it would for you to buy new.

What in the world is going on here on this forum.??
Apparently it would seem the forum is for a select few people who like to troll simply for the sake of it. I really think that some people would be better off having their own little private forum

I don't mean to be included in your idea of trolling or incapable of reading what you wrote, because I'm far from it. The fact that your post not only reads like it is.....it also leaves much to read into. Your intro....right off the bat, associated your request with Sgtpearce's as even you acknowledged this. This immediately implied that you were in search for "something for nothing." You claimed the difference between your thread and Sgtpearce's.....is that you want parts, not money. To follow suit, you go on to explain that you lack/limited funds to continue into your project, (I suppose to inflict sympathy and justification for why one should consider giving to you based on pity..........or maybe selling as you think you implied.) Anyway, good luck on your requests and getting back on your feet. I know I'm trying, but it's a rough road and I'm thankful I financially prepared myself for this. Sucks to be at a standstill in something your passionate about, even worse when you know you have the money but circumstances leave you hanging by "what if's" on a daily basis.

Peace out,
Big T

Lessons learned.

Don't ask for free stuff or money on this forum.

Build your tanks, show your work, and if you are looking for a specific part that is hard to find or buy a single of, then I think it is fair game to wonder out loud if someone might be able to help you out.

It is clear this forum membership does not like people looking for handouts.

Some people look at this as begging. I have given up stuff freely, but only as a gesture to help some one out with a specific part. The broad approach for money and parts, will never end well. As far as HL electronics go. No such thing as an unneeded spare.!!!!!!!!!!

DM you have been a contributor and member for a little while, and I myself look at this as a case of poor communication. Hopefully this little misunderstanding can be pushed aside, and the fourm membership can just move on away from topics like this.

Cheers everyone.

DM,
I can assure you I read just fine, especially if what I am reading is well versed and the intent is clear, which your post was not so don't put the fault on me or us. I just saw another post where someone is asking for parts and complaining about not having a job. Reads the same way even now as I go back through it.
Been on this forum now for years and never seen the asking for parts/money type posts that are popping up now so I jumped to my pointed response.

Not sure if this mends the fence but as you said **** us I guess for a poorly written/poorly timed post on your part.

Now, now guys....this name calling stuff is a little below us...or I hope so. Let's just move on and let bygones be bygones. Just remember in the future DM to be a little more clear is all.

OK,
Why is RCU allowing people to panhandle?
And why is it people feel the need to panhandle? If you can't afford it, then you don't get to play. I friggin know because I've not only been there, I AM HERE! I can't afford to replace anything I have and I've been selling off what I can.
I'm currently unemployed and I realize I can't fly at whim anymore because I CAN"T AFFORD IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow,

Gentlemen, when our panhandler gets a reply he doesn't like...He sends messages like this:

how about this, you go **** yourself, and save your nigger comments for someone who gives a ****.
Diabolic-mind

Before you send him anything, consider his temperament.

edit: Never mind....that' was a PM to you.

Damn............I bow out of this thread in disgust.

edit: As an added comment......I find that **** and **** and **** is automatically blocked out by RCU, but not that word.....hmmm. Strange times, strange times indeed.
