I got the email too the other day. Maybe he is also the reason for all the virus problems here on RCU lately.

I too received this e-mail. I actually checked out the site. It sucked. First major complaint on it is that it is full of poor information and blatant lies / brags. I.E. I put a x motor in my 1/12 scale truck and was doing 90 down the street! - Really? PFFTT!!!!

Don't bother joining.

hey guys, i got the same email also. however i dont think he has your email address. what is happening is rc universe has a email notification option that sends you an email when you recieve a PM on rc universe. so i think the email you got was simply rcu's email  notification. it was the case for me

Well this was not a "PM".........I like to get the PM notice in my email as it lets you know you have one so you can log back in and read it.

But this did not come this way........Thats what makes me wonder how this person has been able to access any member here and forward on this soliciation...........I have been a member on a couple different tank forums. If this was sent to me from a known member here and in the form as a PM I would not mind or would i have said anything as i don't think there is anything wrong with that.A lot of members here belong to several forums.

Who is this "Jason"..........is he even a member here.?

Do any of you guys know what his last name is? Or what username here on RCU he has been using?? Also, what is the return email address on the mails he is sending?? I'm trying to track him down so that we can try and put a stop to this guy.

Thanks for your help

I don't know for sure, but the kid (sgt.peirce) was promoting it hard and may be the Jason character. It does seem odd that he got a lot of grief here and then wants to get all of us to go to some unheard of new site with an unpalatable name. I did not go and will not. I do not want to experience the moonshadow5739 experience. What I think he is doing is suckering someone in and trying to destroy their computer with viruses. Just my opinion, and no facts to back it up.

I got the email as well. Like a few others, I checked it out also. I did not get any viruses or anything. Maybe I was just lucky. I didn't like the site at all.

I also got the message. What he did was simply email us using the email click at the bottom of posts etc. That's a blind email system where someone can email you but not get your email address. Of course the little fugitive from a douche bag is now on my banned list.
I got no virus warning from the email, but I did not bother to access his sight.

GUYS - GUYS - GUYS...

Turning off your e-mail is a pretty extreme way to lock this twerp out. There is a 'block' option, and it'll stop you from seeing his posts, stop him from PMing or even e-mailing you (from what I understand of the function). Its that little red hand icon in the lower right... find one of his posts, and do it, BUT...

First, before you 'block' him, REPORT him. Tell RCU directly that he's abused RCU's facilities to spam us, and they will lock the twerp out. They have rather successfully kept certain others out (despite repeated attempts/accounts) so there is NO reason why that method should not work here, right?

As for return spamming... you DO realise that he can report you to your ISP, and if he can prove it (geeze, brag about it, DUH?) they can act against you too, right? I gave up that petty kind of reaction a decade ago...

USE the system, boys, don't ABUSE it.

Report him, Block him, and FORGET about him.

'Nuff Said.

jason@******.com" <jason@******.com

Here's what I got, Ken. SgtPearce, aka LeoA26, was apparently behind this deal, as he announced in a thread early this week or late last that we 'needed to go to this new forum put up by his friend Jason' as it had 'everything you've been asking for'. Kid is a troll, if he indeed is a 'kid' of 18 or so as he originally stated.

OK guys...

I saved my mail... (never used the links) and have just sent the intact header to RCKen. If anyone else here is good at extraction, I can stuff it into an e-mail or PM, and let you do your magick for Ken if he cannot use it.

Anyone thought of notifying FaceBook and Twitter to tell admin there that this twit has abused e-mail links on other forums, and he will likely do so on THEIR forum too?

Think logically guys...

WhiteWolf

PS: If you join, do NOT add a referrer. It gives the spammer points for the first contest: a voucher from a hobby shop, or a $25 credit-card-brand debit card.
