In Memory of Dick Winters

Most of us already know that Major Dick Winters passed away January 2nd of this year. Imortalized for future generations in the HBO mini series "A Band of Brothers", along with many of this Airborne brethern, he served as a beacon to many soldiers both then and now. Any media that brings praise, respect, honor and our never-ending appreciation to the Greatest Generation, and all our Veterans, should regarded as a treasure. Today, Spike TV will present an all day marathon of the HBO series. Enjoy the show and say a prayer of thanks tonight.

Such a shame. I am also wondering if the MAAM, WWII re-enactment in June will be doing some sort of tribute/memorial for Winters. Don't forget to mark that event on your calendar Bob, its the weekend of June 3rd,4th,5th http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html

Hey...
I watched the first Ep at a friends place, and said " Its WORTH it, and bought the sweet steelbox set, with all the extras.
Guys, if you like something, take the time to buy it, not dub a poor DVR copy with all the extra crap. You'll be very glad ya did, trust me.
And to Dick, and all the ones who have 'jumped' ahead, and the ones that are still waiting, I say " Thanks. We appreciate what ya did, and you deserve MUCH more reward than ya got... "
My maternal grandpa was gassed in WW1, and his first winter over here (was either '72/'73' or '73/'74) did the deed on his lungs: pneumonia w/ complications. My paternal grandpa ran the Sydney Steel Mill, making the steel used in the tanks, and the ships, and lots else. He would have gone if his job wasn't deemed critical.
Honor 'em, guys, whenever ya can - then, in later conflicts, and those over there now. They go where they are ordered to... not their fault, right?

PS: If ya can buy it from a store that gives back to vet's funds, DO IT.

Hi Guys, I hope some of you enjoyed the series last night. I know I did.
Wade,
I really wanted to go the the WWII weekend last year but had a family event planned. I hope to make it this year. Perhaps I can meet you there with a few of the other NEAD guys.
WWB,
I have the steel boxed set. My family is very in tune with my Christmas gifts etc... I'm very easy to shop for.

Hi Guys,
There will be a memorial service in Hershey Theater in PA this Saturday at 2PM for Maj. Richard Winters. Tickets are free and required for addmission, but it is unfortunately "Sold-out". I've been reliably informed that WGAL TV (the local station) will broadcast the ceremony live on the internet.
Thanks, Bob

Commander!
Can you get us a time for this, and if possible, a link to their site that we can 'subscribe' to so we can log on before their server overloads? And has anyone thought to ask if they will RECORD it for VCD/DVD sales in museums like AAF, with benefits to go to war vets and/or Make-A-Wish? (in light of that other newsworthy item last week, hmmm?
Just more semi-idle thoughts. Would be nice to ad to the B0B disks I have...
