The Tamiya factory and corporate HQ is in Shizuoka, Japan.  It is south and west of the earthquake zone.

You will love the Leo, it is far superior in construction, engineering and performance to the other Tamiya kits.

The 2.4 Futaba is a wonderful radio and the reciever has a dipole antenna only ~5 in. long, which means no wires wraped around the tank hull.

The 2.4 radio system is very reliable and has amazing range and interference rejection. Something you definately want in tank battles!

The Leo has a shutdown feature (as well as the 2.4 radio system) whereby no spuradic or uncontrolled glitches occur because of low battery.
