Perhaps the mods can create a 'Princess' sub forum for all the delicate types to have their hissy fits on. Maybe then the posts on this forum would concentrate more on developments in the RC tank world and less on some members tendencies to take offense at any throwaway comment that puts them offside.

SLU looks great Tim and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on at least one.

I really like this set up. How hard is it to put in?
I am making the installation video this weekend. From the one that I have seen in action, there is some soldering of connections to various motors that the user needs to do (ie left right track motors, turret traverse motor, barrel elevation motor, recoil/airsoft motor). As for the LEDs, they can be soldered to the connectors provided, or just inserted into the connectors and hot glued in place. Everything is has a quick disconnect.

Looking forward to seeing the install video Tim.

Yes, I am bringing my demo down and I am investigating the bringing additional units across the border to sell.

Hello Tim,

I too want to give you kudos for this development, Heck if guys know me I have been an advocate for affordiable IR battle systems and tank themself since I got in the business 4 years ago. That is why I got into the business as I saw a need to have an option from Tamyia. I am sure I will be buying one of your SLU's soon as well, if I don't have a customer request for me to install it first.

There is plenty of room for more electronics in this hobby as YHR system seems like an interesting option as well.

Keep up the good work and look forward to meeting you in Person and seeing the SLU in action at Danville.

Thanks Blitz. The Sandbox is a big one, and there is lots of room, lots of toys for all the kids to play with.

Absolutely, IMHO, choice is a good thing.

When you do your installation video, I didn't know if the tank you are working on will be a HL airsoft or IR.

I expect that I would be converting an airsoft to SLU, whether that is my Abt. 505 tiger with the 3:1's or I use it an and "excuse" to buy a Pershing or another Tiger I.

The tank I am using as my demo has a HL recoil unit. The SLU also works with the HL Airsoft motor (all you need is to add a jumper on the SLU board). The SLU IR system works with both.

I will include pics of how to wire it to an Airsoft unit.

Its a snap to install. I wired my demo SLU today and it took me 45 minutes (took my time and triple checked everything).

M26 SLU is due out next month.

I can see one of these in my future for upgrading my Stug to IR battling capability.

I am looking at this as a viable option for my Hooben Elefant. It has a good price point, and if I am not totally impressed, then i can use it in my HL Panzer IV & replace it with a Tamiya unit. Either way, I'll find a home for it.

Very nice, Tim.

I am watching this with a lot of interest.

I could see it going in one of my present tanks, or the next one I buy.
Next one won out, I just ordered one for my next "project"

I should finish out my Panzer IV F2 airsoft next week, then its clear the decks on my bench for the SLU tank.

Hey Fireman,
How is the entire unit on space as compared to the Tamiya? Is it more compact to allow for tight spacing?
