Default What a Difference in Forums

All,
First of all I would like to thank all who post here and help out with questions, articles, build threads etc. I just bought the 1/200 scale USS Arizona made by Trumpeter and and had some questions about the construction, RC ing etc. I posted in the RC Boats Gerneral Discussions 4 days ago and only received 3 responeses.
You make a post here on the Tank Forum asking for help or answer to a question and you get 10 - 20 responeses. So I just wanted to thank all who post for all your help. It's obvious it isn't present in the other modeling forums.

Those of us who are interested in boats & subs know that the related forums here on RCU are a joke.

For your 1:200 AZ, you'll want to look over the following:

hermill,
Thank you so much. That is exactly what I was looking for. I just guessed since the RC Tankers were so helpfull, that the other forums would be as well. Well they are not and Thank You Again hermill. You have saved me a number of sleepless nights ( That boat addes up to two HL tanks that I had to forego )

You're welcome Jim. If you do some looking around over there you'll find a few familiar faces such as cmpang, danl, predreadnut.

Do yourself a favor & stay away from the subs unless you want to give up your tanking budget for a few years to come. Even the plastic conversions like a Revel Gato will set you back $$$. Best to think about something that brings both hobbies together like a 1:16 LCT.

The spirit of co-operation is very strong in the RC tank community. It is the one thing that impressed me the most when I first attended a battlefield. We just had a big event at Danville and the sharing of information and ideas was one of the highlights of the weekend.

The degree of comradrie shown by everyone that attended the extravaganza was excellent. There were faces to finally go with names, new things to see and hear, and closer ties formed with friends from the forum. If anyone needed help, or a part, or tools to fix something, it was offered without hesitation. We were there to have fun, and it is no fun to have a broken tank sitting on the bench! I have been making boats for quite a while, but I have to admit that the tanking bug has bit me in the butt big time. Ya, ya, I know it was hard to miss it. My thanks go out to everyone that helped with the event, the Gasser family and the museum staff/volunteers, it would not have been the thrill that it was without all of you contributing what you did. The total package was AWSOME!

P.S.
If Daniel Gassser needs help getting someones attention, just call me.
