HL Pershing Gun Length, Correct Scale?
Does anyone here know if the HL Pershing's gun length is correctly proportioned for scale?
I have read some reports that it is not and it needs to be "stretched" about 30 millimeters.
Any info would be appreciated.

that's correct...it's too short and width is also out...it's about a 105mm as it comes. Same with most HL guns because they are set up for the Airsoft BB shooting.

Thanks, that's what I thought.
At least for the Tiger I, they offer a longer barrel as an accessory, I think for the Pershing, a person would have to come up with their own solution.
In my case, the goal with a future Pershing would be an SLU conversion, if it was no longer able to shoot airsoft, I could live with that, I already have some good airsoft "shooters".

Get the Tamiya gun and mantlet assembly. it fits in the HL Pershing turret just fine. all it needs is a little trimming and it works great.
I got the barrel and mantlet sprue from the AAF.

Take a short-cut. With a few minor mods, you can have a pretty nice M-45. Cut the gun and you have an already installed 105mm.

the trouble with extending the barrel is that you can get a bit carried away

The tracks on the model are T-66's, made by kenny kong, I think?? I managed to get them cheap secondhand. Although I think the "original" Super-P's had T-81's. but they're close enough for me

Try it again but look at posts from 2006 first, either way if you add 32-33mm to the gun tube you'll be fine.

You could go real long and make a Super out of it. there where only 2 but who cares. the HL Pershing works well for that conversion. May still do it to mine one of these days now that I have a Tamiya Pershing. My HL has all Tamiya hardware inside including the gun and recoil. it also uses a servo elevation that works unbeleivably well.
