Hi guys, just wanted to show some fresh pictures of how my M1 now looks. The main areas I've done a little detailing on are the mantlet to lower its profile as it stuck up too high, made a mount for the loaders machine gun (kept it simple. No super detailing on this tank with the way it gets beat on), added some more stowage and some weathering to the lower hull and side plates. The best addition though by far is 2 x Ansmann 7.2v 4500 packs which give me some serious play time when run in parallel. Hope you like the pics and as usual any criticism is welcome. Just waiting for YHR's new sound system now!

Many thanks for you responses fellas especially after seeing all the fine work you do. I think I must have got lucky when I had the paints out as this is a first attempt. Just glad to know its not too far off the mark. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!!

One thing I've been pondering if anyone might know, do Abrams generally have any exposed metal areas where the paint has rubbed or chipped off? I expect less so than the tanks of WW2 era. I would imagine the machine guns do to some extent and possibly the fenders but I'm interested to find out if anyone can help. Thanks

Thank you, I've seen that picture before, I think its pretty unusoal to see an M1 with rust like that. It must have been in theatre for some time. As far as rust goes I think I'm just going to stick to the tracks when I get hold of some spray rust. I'd like to add a little shiny bare metal in places if correct as I believe it will make for a more realistic metal look. Another area of exposed metal could be the rails on the sides and rear of the turret? What about all the edges on the equipment on the turret top where they might get scuffed?
