Hello All,
I have started some research on Two Self propelled guns that I would like to build in 1/16 R.C version. The first the U.S M109, it has 7 wheels plus the idler and sprocket. The Second one, the British AS90.IT has 6 wheels and Idler and sprocket.
I have plastic models of each as reference BUT my scratch building skills are not that good.
What I would like to know is there any current product line being sold that I could buy the Lower Complete chassis and build up from there? That would be a Great help to me.
If anyone knows, can you include a link to the seller so that I could check it out and contact the seller.
I did do a Google search and have some pictures etc. but not too description of the running chassis and what tank might be similar.
Thanks In Advance for your help.
George

I believe they used the Pershing lower hull. So you could find those on EBay easily. As far as the rest good luck. there is a lot of work involved especially with this type of project. Also the hulls where reversed. Front to rear idlers and rear to front drive sprockets so the are completely backwards.

George:
For the M109, you might think about using the Leopard chassis, and just use it bass-ackwards.
As for the AS90... the sprocket and idler both look smaller than a Pershing standard... like [link=http://www.flickr.com/photos/megashorts/3670892911/]this image[/link]
Then again, I'm just going from pics and memory.

George, either way, it's going to be a lot of detailed scratch making and a lot of shet styrene. Believe the road wheels as well as sprockets-idlers on the 109 are smaller than Pershing or M-41, although the extended chasis for the 7th road wheel may make it look more to scale. It would be an awesome vehicle if you can do it. Good luck.
