Default Raiden Tech

I have decided to take a chance on Raidentech. I have ordered the HL Panther-G with no smoke or sound (I will be installing an SLU ). I immediately received an e-mail reply giving me an order tracking link. So far so good. Further postings as things progress.

i think they are good for shipping the item just bad i heard for products that don't work, but if you are putting the SLU in it , it wont matter if the electronics don't work i guess

I bought my first HL(bulldog) from raidentech. It arrived in just a few days, but I think that's because of their location compared to mine.

The HL panther is great. Get the suspension spring upgrade form RCTankwars or Welsh dragon.

Did you ship it to your US postal box? If not, get ready for Brokers fees

I dont beleive that Heng Long ever made a Panther G non S&amp;S only the PanTiger, but I may be mistaken. I hope I am for your sake.
Raiden tech doesn't have the best reputation for knowing what it is their selling either.

Is it this one?.

http://www.raidentech.com/1scelrcgepab.html

Because they have a number of "Pantigers" on their site, too;

<a href="http://www.raidentech.com/1rcsmgepataw.html">http://www.raidentech.com/1rcsmgepataw.html

http://www.raidentech.com/1rcgepatawie.html<br type="_moz" /></a>

There can only be one Pantiger in the CAN AM, Captainaction has the exclusive rights to them<br type="_moz" />

Hi Glenn,

Yeah, the first link was the one I ordered. I'll post photos when it comes one way or the other, but I am hoping it's as shown of course. As far as there not being a non S&amp;S version, well one never knows what they might be pumping out of the Chinese factories. RaidenTech may have special ordered a sufficient quantitiy to get a special, low cost version who knows?

Well, I checked out their site and yes they are still selling the PanTiger with and with out S&amp;S so make sure you guys know what you are ordering. It is very easy to get mixed up with the Panther if you are new to the hobby. they must have had a whole container of the Pantigers when they first ordered them.<div> I bet they will be around on that site for a long time.</div>

well the "non smoke and sound" Panther G from RaidenTech arrived exactly on schedule. FYI non smoke and sound HL tanks do not use RX18 Boards (I'm installing an SLU so no big deal there), my Panther arrived sans bow machine gun (I guess that makes sense) and in 3-colour camo (grey tank shown on website) but my only concern is that it came with a pair of nylon gear boxes. Oh well, I guess 3:1 low ratio gears are definately in my future.

Well it's hard to beat "free shipping" and "lowest prices".I have allways had good luck with anything shipped thru- UPS ariving in undammaged condition. Can't say the same for Fed-X.

You really can't beat free shipping. The money saved now goes into better electronics (SLU), upgraded suspension arms and springs and rear idlers (all from Welsh Dragon) and now a 3:1 gear set. I'm happy, my wife not so much.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the Mato 3:1 gearboxes for my HL Panther plus two recoil units in case I screw up while attempting YHRs excellent hL recoil mod (IMO you can't give enough credit to the ingenious innovation of YHR, kudos to you once again sir) Hopefully my mechanical chops will be up to the task of making this Panther a real IR battle contender.

Pics to follow once I get the bits together.

Cheers

The Welsh Dragon aftermarket stuff arrived today, superior quality, I'm quite pleased. I think I'll put the stiffer springs at the "corners" and leave the middle soft. I'm tempted to get the Mato metal roadwheels but something tells me I may be dissappointed with them.

I was dissappointed with them. They attach the same as the plastic versions, butare not as deeply dished as the plastic, Asiatam or real road wheels.........looks a little "wrong".
Do NOT get the Mato metal swingarms-bad copies of the plastic swingarms, mine were not cut square which resulted in aligmnent issues.
I eventually settled on the Asiatam swingarms and road wheels with my Jagdpanther and have had no regrets.

I too bought the Asiatam aftermarket parts (again excellent quality on all parts). They came with stainelss steel axels and brass bushing inserts and feel very precise.

I just noticed that the tow cable front mounts are broken off of both sides of my new Panther G, that coupled with the missing bow MG leads me to believe that RaidenTech sells factory seconds or returns when you order the non-S&amp;S tanks. Just an FYI for the record.

New discovery!! I just noticed that my drop in brass 3:1 gear boxes from Mato for the HL Panther G have axles thta are just a bit too short which results in the tracks rubbing on the molded supension detail on the hull. I think a washer ground into a D shape and inserted into the drive sprocket should do the trick although I may need to get slightly longer allen screws with which to fasten the drive sprockets.

Just an after thought. As opposed to buying new springs, you can clock them an get the same effect for free. Just a thought. I too have had good luck with Raiden Tech. But you have to be real carefull on the adds for the non sound and smoke tanks.

Had the same problem with my JagD. You will definately need to buy longer screws. I removed the dummy shock towers.

The stiffer springs were cheap, and easy to install. That and the fact that I only used 6 of the 16 springs means I have spares for the next project.
