Default More Hooben queries...

Sorry guys...

I went back a year, and dinna find my old 'issues' thread. So I'm askin' in a fresh post:

Its about Step 12, where it shows that you bolt the TE3 sprocket shaft/axle to the TC2/TC3 sprocket halves, and then in Step 13, where it ~seems~ to show you put ~another~ collar (with no part #) on the TE3 shaft between the roller bearing & the gearbox. I can take a pic of my unit, and what I ~think~ they want you to do... Anyone else have pics already of this collar-over-setscrew assembly?

Also, if you ~are~ supposed to do this, do you line up the setscrews (running them through the outer collar and into the inner one, or put the collars at an angle, so the outer collar prevents the inner collar setscrews from backing out? I ask as I can only get one set of holes on ~both~ to thread cleanly, the other binds up.

One other item: How many T55 owners had issues with the chassis roller bearing not lining up decently with the gearbox shaft? The one on the right side lines up ok, but the left one is too low and too far forward. I really don't want to have to ream the mount holes to move the box aft to align it, AND shim between the gearbox and the chassis too.

I don't use the roller bearing. With plastic, or even metal, tracks, IMHO the roller bearings are redundant.

ERF - great.

Now I gotta try to ram the buggers out of there AFTER mounting the external covers. Ah well, guess it beats trying to shim/align the gearboxes.

Thanks Bob. Any idea on the over-collar on the gearbox shaft? I can take pics if needed...
