Lighting...
Went into the local electronics shop for assorted reasons... and got shown a few near things: that new strip-LED lighting... 3 SMD LED's per 3", sold in 3' sections, one splash-resistant, other is in a tube for submersion use. Comes pre-loaded w/ dropping resistors for 12v. When I priced it out, it'd be easier to pull these LED's than buy 'em separately! Anyone wants the maker and stock #, lemme know,. but I remember finsing an online link from MonstersInMotion hobby site.
To work on 'em, they make super-fine tips for my Weller iron, $8.50 a pop... then again, mebbe its time I bought a new iron instead of trying to keep this one alive.
Switches for Tamiya guns: Found some nice push-buttons, but I'm looking for Stock Futaba duplicates for the toggles (momentary and on/on for Ch. 5/6 and trainer) and if anyone knows a supplier (or if Futaba will sell 'em by stock #) lemme know. Also has ANYONE ever gotten the correct point for the 6ch units? I have my 4's wired ok, but its NOT the same points on a 6ch.
Saw a wonderful storage/transport case, Pelican or summat, but at $250, forget it.
I also has another look at 3mm LEDs, and they dun look too biug to fit in the Tamiya Sherman/Pershing casings. Gonna take my spare Pershing set in to compare, and try a set. How many would be interested in retrofit sets if they could be supplied as drop-ins? I'd be looking into Sherman, Pershing and probably Leopard ones, and mebbe ones for the T34 and T55 as well, and possibly the M41 when I finally get off my duff and buy it. Online eBay retailers have said thy can do it, given a prototype or design & cable lengths/plugs.
If ya have trouble with a sock Brushie, lemme know, I'll give it a shot, as I'm decent w/ a needle and thread. And lighting is always good on oversact and at dawn/dusk for SpFx shots (especially when there is groundfog, like now...)

Sadly, no.
With the car still unrepaired, and still nothing running, I dinna think I should spend the $150 in gas alone. Shame too, weather is supposed to be great, at least up here (26c Sat/Sun)
And I have a feeling it may be too cold next month. I'm going to work on getting enough ready to 'wow' you guys soon as the snow is gone enough to make it down, assuming I still have these wheels or have acquired new ones (already got $1600 aside, idjit still owes 1600, and I can sabe more besides)
If I get 'retired' again come Dec/Jan, I'll be free to concentrate on my hobby... and with my medical issues getting settled, I should be in decent shape too.
Have fun for me, and don't forget to take pics, ok?

Good news:
Remember that huge piece of flour-sack material, aka curtains, I said I was gonna get? Sister is givin' 'em to me TOMORROW. Will be able to measure 'em, and see just how much I'm gettin.
Would make a bl**dy marvelous sized tarp/tent/canopy for the tanks on display... be they 1/16 or 1/6...
WhiteWolf,
- hoping he'll get to bring all his goodies down for next spring.
