Ineed to trigger a muzzle flash LED for my HL Tiger. It doesn't have recoil since it'sa chopped upAirsoft tank and I'm not interested in converting it at the moment. I have a DBC as the IR battle system (not a DBCRC2). Everything works except there's no muzzle flash. How do you guys trigger yours? I was wondering if Icould just hook it up in series or parallel with the IR flash LED. If Ichanged out the resisters, do you think this'd work?
Getting a little deeper into this problem (and throwing some associated knowledge out into the tanking community), my original plan was to use the HL High Tension flash unit. However, the flash doesn't trigger (neither on the left upstick, whichwas expected, nor with the K button, which Ididn't expect) unless you attach the little two-wire tail to the HL recoil motor in an IR tank, which my tank isn't. The DBC is also taking up the CN IR port on the Rx18, so that won't work as a workaround.Anyhow, thetail on the HL flash unit isbasically an open circuit, and it flashed when Ijumpered it manually. Simple, right? Just solder in a transistor, maybe use the IR flash or a contact from the reciever to activate it, or maybe just go with a microswitch, yeah? Well, not so simple...that same manual jumpering ALSO triggered the HL fire sound-which would clash badly with the DBC fire sound! Isuspect that it also triggers track recoil, though Ididn't have motors plugged in and don't actually know. Even if Imanaged to trigger the HL flash unit Ihave no idea how to suppress the shot noise from the Rx18. Isuppose Icould snag the micro-SD from the DBC and erase the shot sound file, but Idon't know how to do this. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm probably going to just go with the simple colored LED as a muzzle flash, even though I'd much rather use the High Tension Flash unit-it looks great!

A flash led in parallel with the IR one would 'flicker' in parallel with the transmitted IR code, but I fear that it is the only solution you have without a mechanical trigger from the recoil unit.

Oh right, Iforgot about that! ok, that idea is out. I've even gone so far as to consider building an Arduino circuit for the flash, but at that point Imay as well buy a recoil unit and do it properly. Hmm...yeah, looks like it's a recoil unit for me. Drat! didn't want that expense or labor...Thanks for your help though!

So just curious-is there a way to connect the HL High Tension flasher to the IBU? Ihave an IBUcoming in the mail, and if it worked it'd be a perfect answer to my woes...
