Hi...
I have a Asiatam recoil working with the SLU...I am sorry I don't have any pictures of it, but I found it pretty easy to install...first I had a look at the recoil and figured out which motor did what...then I cut all the old wires out and installed the SLUs wires direct to the two motors...
There is two micoswitches on the recoil, the one for the led is there no use for and the other is conected to C1 on the SLU...
Hopes it can help....
Now I need some help, my Tiger with SLU was fitted with standart HL motors and 3:1 transmissions, but it did'nt have any power at all...so I changed the motors out with new Graupner 400 motors but it still don't have any power, it can't make sharp turns or pivot turns on carpent floor and it only barely can manage it on concrete floor.
does anyone have a soution on the problem...everything else works fine....
Thanks Jens.

Yes I have tried full trottle, half trottle and it is the same at both sides...I don't know if it is because my Tiger is pretty heavy...it weighs about 14 Lb....

It is also when it have to go up over small obstacles such as doorsteps...said in another way it had more power when it had the RX-18 mounted...and I was told it would have the same ore more power when it got the SLU...
But what I can't figure out is, if there should be a fault in the SLU-esc such as a blow FET it would show up as a fault when either reverse or going forward...but it can all the movements....
It just moves as it was running low on battery, but that has been checked...have tried with three batteries all where charged up and had a out-put voltage from 8 to 8.4 volts...
I have also tried to callibrate the radio once more, thought it maybe did'nt send out full trottle signal when used...that did'nt help...then I changed the radio and the receiver to see if that maked any change...but no luck there either...so now I am pretty much out of solutions...

I hope this is just a glitch with the support issue, as I plan on getting these for future projects. And I have heard great things about these up until this point.
Cheers,

I ran the first Tiger I all last summer.
These have worked out very well for me and I will be buying more for any future builds.

Tim will not be able to access the forum until the weekend of March 3rd, but tech support and repairs are now handled by Ke (Hulu). He can be contacted at [email protected]
Ke is in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, not China.

Hey Dan,
It is the micro switch that controls the start stop that is the issue. For some reason it just will not work with the SLU. I think the SLU provides the on on/off timer circuit. It does not provide a pulse. I say that becasue on the SLU there is a POT to adjust the recoil speed. Since the Asiatam uses the microswitch to start and stop I don't think it can work.
I sure wish there were a way around it.However I will tinker with the guts of a $50 recoil unit, but not so inclined to go digging into the SLU...LOL
DOn

if you look on the video for the SLU calibration 03:42 into the video almost to the end there is a barrel recoil motor speed ajustment screw it's on like a little blue box on the SLU board

Baron, are you having issues with the elevation of traverse being stuck on still? If so I had that with mine, its a problem with the ESC, I talked to Ke and hes getting on to fixing it

Hi Guys ,Just a bit of info about the SLU ,First the Transmiters ,I have had Mine working with Spektrum DX4, Dx5E, DX6 DX6I And LP5DSM.They all work with the SLU,But you do have to Program some of them to do so DX6 needs to have the sticks reset (if the throttle is on the left stick normaly)and you wish to use this for functions (same setup as Heng Long for instance)you have to reset the stick for full range ,If you dont it wont fire the gun when moved up.It all depends what the radio is set for ,some standard setups say for helicopter mix channels so this has to be reset.
So if you are using radios normaly set as standard for aircraft you may have to reset them to a neutral state .Check you manuals ,playing with the radio at the same time is the best way to find out.Once you have full range of movement you will have to reset the SLU.
Other problems if you are getting a red light on the ESC have you conected the wires correctly between the SLU and ESC Dont forget the 2 qwires that conect to the switch.
Recoil units I have only used standard Heng Long recoil units but have found it best tomove the microswitch to the front it gives a better flash bang recoil timing, using the standard contacts at the back ,it moves then flashes then bang, also it somtimes recoils twice.
regards pete
