Default Elephant tracks at ETO

Ok guys, Bob stated that ETO just got in a shipment of elephant track sets and I thought I'd showcase them here for any who have not seen them. The castings are very clean and the tracks are as nice as I have ever seen. Here they are.

Yellowshaker,
They look pretty good from your pictures. What mechanism is used to hold the pin into the tracks? Do you have any pictures of the end of the track where the pins go in and pictures of the pins? Do they work with the stock sprockets and idlers or is there some tweaking necessary? Do they come with spare links or do we buy those separately. I am seriously considering these for my Elefant, as I really like metal tracks and I don't think I want to go the Asiatam route.
Thanks for the pics.
Steve

These tracks are specifically made for Hooben's elephant adn they do not require changing sprockets. Asiatam's do not fit without modification. The track pins have a knurled end that locks them in place and they are tight fitting. I see no problems with these coming loose. And yes, they do come with extra links and pins with the set.I will get some photos for you and post them here tomorrow. I usuallu add metal tracks to my tank builds, adn though I promised myself that the elephant will not have metal, I am finding thiis mod very difficult to resist. You know they will find their way on my tank at some point. LOL

Their look reminds me of Kenny Kong tracks.
I would not be surprised if they are from Kenny.

They are, but this is by far the best quality I've ever seen from him, and I've been using his tracks since 2001. They are as good as any other tracks in the hobby.

Bob, you owe me a cookie!
I have never questioned the quality of Kenny's tracks. I have some of his tracks on my tanks.

OK! Come to Krim this summer for holiday and I'll give you a cookie. And some good Krim wine. And we'll run tanks until we drop.

No problem Steve. Sorry I am not even close to a pro photographer...but I think you can see the way it works.

I picked up a set of these tracks for my Elefant as well. They'll make a fine addition. Although I was one of the first group to order the Hooben Elefant from ETO, I haven't had the time to complete my project yet. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as now I have been able to to get the metal tracks, zimmerit kit and the steel main gun mechanism deck from Bob at ETO. I had wanted metal tracks from day 1, and the zimmerit kit will save me hours of trying to apply Miliput putty.

Thanks Bob

Nick, thank you for the compliments, both on forum and in your email to me. They are very much appreciated! I was very happy to hear how pleased you are with both the tracks and the steel main gun platform for the Elefant. I of course am using both for my Elefant build just starting.

Bob
