New HE M1A2 Abrams
#26

The price of these substandard RC tanks is becoming rediculous. you would at least figure they would put a decent track and sprocket system on them with some semi correct Turbine engine sounds.<div>Anyone can trough a desiel engine sound together which is fine for the LEO but not the Abrams.</div><div>Did I mention that I only paid 89.00 US for mine a couple of years ago and it ihas the best running gear in it you can buy. All Tamiya.</div>

The video is of the newly released Abrams, they upgraded both the M1A1 and the M1A2 to the new standard. I would presume they updated the M1A1 to have the suspension at the same time.
The price quoted is for UK retail, USA retail will be less more than likely. The price increases are down to increased material cost, increased shipping costs and increases in the quality and cost of living in China. Expect them to keep increasing as people want better wages. We have been living in a boom time of cheap consumer goods for a long time at the expense of these workers so enjoy it while it lasts.
Had any of these tanks been made in the UK or the USA, or any western country for that matter and the cost for these tanks would be a lot higher. I do think you are certainly paying a premium for these tanks, as nice as they are. I doubt I could sell them on eBay without making a loss (due to eBay fees).

Well got it straight from Blitzes mouth. Looks like just another rehashed version of the same old thing, so no worries. We do and can make the upgrade parts for the roadwheels and sprockets so Phil will be able to set you up with any electronics package that you want.<div> These do make very nice tanks with some sensible mods and are lots of fun with real fast medium torque motors. Just like the real thing baby.</div><div>I just may ship mine off to Phill and get a full blown El-Mod treatment to mine. Same goes with my HE LEO.</div><div>We have not heard weather or not the LEO has been halted or not. Time will tell.</div>

Is it the new Premium versions you have or standard versions?

What is the Premium version, it has a 2.4 Ghz system that you most likely cannot use, and if you look closely at the video the tracks have double teeth underneath, so the road wheels & suspension are the same as what I have in stock. That means to me you will need a custom drive sprocket if you want your drive sprocket to be metal. And how robust are these tracks will they with stand use upgrading the gearbox and adding 480 motors to get some scale speed and realistic sounds? These are just questions I have, is it worth the extra money if you have to junk those parts anyway? The price is just not justified yet, if someone has one it would be cool to see a good reveiw and the tank in action in the dirt and grass. Heck it maybe great, but I can see from the video the road wheels & suspension has not changed.

The only new thing here is now they are airsoft guns. Tracks are a little different but not necessarily better.<div> An improvement probably but for the increase in price I dont think so. But.These are nice tanks with upgraded running gear and electronics. I do like the fact they corrected the NATO colors.</div><div> If I were to buy them again I would but I already have both with Tamiya gear boxes and Tracks. Phil can do these mods with the parts I sell exclusively to him.</div>

Nice video.
The reason Iwas asking as the chap said he had purchased one from you, if it was the premium version then I thought you would know. At the moment the UK distributor for HEisn't talking to me after I told them their Heng Long sale prices (trade) were above UK average retail.
Personally the only real dislike I have with these tanks is the mg swinging back and forth like firing like he was Rambo every time the main gun elevates. For a quick run around the garden Ifind the the HEtank to be better than most Heng Longs, the quick battery charge also helps. All in all not a bad toy.

HMMMMMMMMMM
2.4 ghz would mean no crowded channels
Somehow lose that machine gun fire with tube elevation.
That detail work on the tank itself is as good as anything else out there.
Like PHil says it will be interesting to see one of these reviewed by Forum member.

Dan, the only real thing they changed was the 2 horn track. You would still need to replace those tracksand sprockets to get them o run reliably. the goofy MG sound when the gun moves is new. Niether MY LEO or Abrams ever did that. they threw on a new paint job and thats it. Yeah, OK 2.4well everyone seems to be going that way nowadays since it prevents the need for specific channle chrystals and everything that goes with it.
Me I'm just going to throw a tamiya KV-1 electronics package in my LEO and Phil is going to get me a full option El-mod set for my Abrams when they come in in March.
So, not all that much is really new here. the suspension mentioned on the LEO is already the suspesion that comes on the tanks now.
Great tanks with some work and if you can get them.

Both of the M1A2's I have here have the MG dance. They've also upgraded it to proportional control, whether that means 10 speed or pure proportional I don't know. Other things included were an upgrade to the tracks and gearboxes. I do not know if the suspension was upgraded but they did fit it to the M1A1.
Then there is the airsoft soft and IR functions.
All I can really see from the paint job is the dirt they have added to it, like someone attacked it with a Tamiya weathering brush.
Admittedly not much use for many of the people who are into the hobby, but not bad upgrade for a consumer package. <br type="_moz"/>
