Karlsruhe 2012
Before Easter I attended a model show with RAG at Karlsruhe, this was a most enjoyable 3 days, the event covered 3 large halls and was solely for RC models of all scales and types be it trucks and tractors or ships and tugs or planes and helicopter’s all were there and all had their own shows to perform throughout the day, the event organisers not only supplied the dirt to run the tanks on though this was more like gravel and caused a few problems with some of the models though only the Stuart suffered from a broken track, they also supplied the sound system the club also had it’s own room to store kit and brew coffee

Amy the jeep had it first outing and performed very well just requiring a few minor tweaks, the club had all scales covered from 1/16 up to 1/6 there was a number of extremely well built scratch builds there this also included building their own axles and gearboxes most impressing, the majority of the large stuff was 1/8 scale and included Panzerhaubitze 2000 this was also built in 1/16, you will also notice a few bridge layers and mine flails all these work to perfection again in 1/8 and 1/16, for the dolly lovers we also managed a small diorama in-between shows

One of the members builds trucks and just happens to make wheels for the jeep these include the hub and a soft compound tyre there not cheap but will work much better than the rock hard Dragon Tyres

Karl, all the new stuff will be at Dortmund next week as soon as I back I will post the pictures and any new information, the only stuff that may interest you chaps is all the 1/16 Leopard conversions and Sechs-Rad AFV .
I’m surprised no one asked about the Abram’s, this is probably why Tamiya have never bothered
