Battle Damage

Craig, this Panther is not SS it’s from one of the Heer divisions and was knocked out in Germany
Karl, I’m always pleased to find I’m wrong as this adds to knowledge, I have just had a look and this Panther is not in either “Duel in the Mist†books and as has been said it’s a 3rd company tank so couldn’t have come from Pieper, and the type of numbers in not typical of LAH at this time what I can tell you is that Panthers issued to Piper had the following features
NO Chin mantle
Crew heater
Normal exhausts with heat shield
Most had hooks on the turret sides for hanging spare tracks though not all
Some had zimmerit
Few (I found 1 picture) had the later larger idler wheel most had the small 600mm idler
There were 4-5 camo patterns from the various factories
A number had the smaller 800mm steel road wheels some were from MAN not sure if all came from there.
You have to be very careful of the websites you find pictures most will be wrong in various ways it’s always better to look at books

Thanks. Since it's a BD tread I thought it was ok to show some WIP here to.
Adding mr surface arround the hit, and trying to blend in colour (wich I did not ) So some seroius black wash i needed.
Also the barrel has been replaced ,and only got time to be primed before beeing rushed into battle again.
my story behind this tank is last in defence and it has parts found ore just 'thrown' on before getting of to defence of Berlin.

then i have to set on yves panther the exhausts switching to normals but single exhaust is that correct ? The A panther had a single exhaust oplus a triple on the next side
from that panther i posted i knew it was in the ardenne area but the 300 nuumbers are not peipers thats threu

Looks very good as does the weathering. The one thing I read earlier from another post was the rounds very rarley pentrated at a 90 Deg. angle and that most bullet holes should be made at an angle. Just the same, your Pershing looks very good. I also want to add that I don't have the courage to add damage to my tanks. Just so afraid I would mess it up.

I know what you mean, it took me awhile to get the courage to do it to mine but what the hell, its an easy fix if you mess up. Cutting off the fenders....now thats another story, but still fixable.
If you look close at the rear damage, its at an angle on both sides. Thanks for your compliments.Rat
