Anyone have any comments on experiences with the HL M26 and this gearbox set from RCTankWars?

I've not had that particular set from Phil before, but I assume they are similar to the ones RCC used to sell. Very smooth, and very strong [8D].
I'm slowly migrating my fleet to the geared down version of these that Asiatam have just launched, as I'm fed up with general poor quality from the mato sets, and even the low profile Asiatams are prone to bent gear shafts if you put them under too much stress.

I've been running those gear boxes with the " Graupner speed 400 (7.2V) for almost 3 weeks in my pershing ....
I'm quite happy with the results , as it did rise the top speed and gave me enough torque to mow the lawn in the park ...
I bought those gear boxes 5 years ago from " RC Command) and they"ve been at least in 3 different tanks since ...They are indestructible ...
Note that I'm also running my pershing with the plastic tracks ...

Thanks for the responses, so far
That would be my plan, too.

I run them with 400's as well and have been more then happy with them. I recently sent them back and had Phil frankenstein the steel gears into his new 3:1 gearboxes which have a stronger frame set-up as well as bearings on the output shafts(inboard side of frame)...now I like them even MORE!

Glen:
I have exactly the same motors and gears with bearings from Phil in my Pershing as are shown by Dirty Bird 69.
I sent you pictures a few months ago. Lots of low speed traction not so much high speed. ( But more to scale)

The pictures are great, I have saved them for a reference.
Between your original report and what I am reading here, the endorsement of this product is very good.
I am still deciding what the next build will be, but if it is an M26, it will have those gearboxes.
