Nice work you do.
Where do you find your magnet? I'm looking for little mmagnet to put under my resin figure feet, and fix them on my landing craft metal deck.

I have bought magnets here.
They pretty much every shape and size you could want.
I am not sure about international sales.

So is the textured paint rattle can or airbrushed on? Either way what brand as well?

To start, I purchased my magnets at my local hobby shop. (Talk about a godsend!) They carry a large inventory of just about any thing that I have needed. If they did not have it, they have ordered it for me. They do international orders also. King RC On-Line Hobby Shop

The textured paint is Rust-oleum texture in black rattle can. I used about three light coats allowing to dry in between coats. Tough finish and looks really good to me.

Some updates on my slow progress. Still working on the stuffing boxes and the water propulsion. Doing some outside detailing on the upper hull and the turret too.

Yes, it is to long at the present time. It still has to be trimmed to size and fit. Your welcome on the magnets information. Flamme, if you can't get them let me know the size you need and I will pick some up for you. What caliber shell casings did you use for your black tube bases? I am planning on using 5.56 ones. That seems to be about the right scale anyway.

Joe, do these pictures give you an idea of how I am going to propel this in the water? The brass on the motor shafts are the stuffing boxes to keep the water out and have to be installed in the hull. Still working on the other parts of it.

For the magnet I found on ebay. I will test them on my resin figure.
For the caliber I use 9mm

Thanks for that information. I have a few of those I can use also. I am waiting on the black balloons I ordered to see what will work the best.  Glad you found magnets that will work on your figures.

Looking good Herman. I use magnets as well. Awesome way to attach the top half. Can't wait to see this float.

I wish I was a pro, then I would be getting paid to do this. Instead, I am just muddling through all this and paying out my of my pocket for the things I want. Guess I have to spend it on something anyway. I can't take it with me, or so I've been told.

I am getting antsy on wanting to see it float too. I'll have to watch that so I don't rush things and make a mess of it all. Been there, done that, and I still have the scars to prove it.

Hey!.......be careful what you wish for, it could happen.

If you became a Pro, what would you do then? Pay a lot of taxes on money from making endorsements? Spend a lot of time filming commercials for hobby companies? Travel around the country doing photo ops at all of the tank club meetings? Sign autographs for hobby fans? Try to avoid the paparazzi all of the time? And worst of all, get persued by gold digging females? Think about it......

Rex

In my current industry they are called "badge bunnies"

I don't think I could stomach "Tank Tarts"!  [X(]

Rex, I have the one book already and have pre-ordered the other one. Good information in the Swimming Shermans but I could have done with less history and more pictures.

Here is a long overdue update on the DD build. I have changed my mind and given it IR battle capabilities with recoil and the IR emitter and flash in the barrel. I had to change some stuff around which has taken me longer than I had anticipated what with "Honey Do's" Etc.

Here are some additional shots of the turret interior with the IR and flash in the barrel and everything mounted like it should be. Lots of room in there doing it like this!

I hope so also, but with the amount of work still to do it is looking iffy. Maybe by the end of Dec. or Jan. sometime. Have to see how fast the canvas screen and rest of the build goes.
