i'm thinking about winterising my KV-1..I think it would be the best tank to do that...Russians have as much snow as we do, the tank is long and pretty wide too, I think it would float just great on snow..anyway, it's not like there were alot of canadian tanks in WWII...Ram 2 never made it, Valentines were partly made in Canada but were flagged english, and what...the M4 Grizzly? hmmm maybe a M4 grizzly could be a nice build actually...

Well, it really isn't a tank, but it plays in the snow too! Snow is nothing more than frozen water, right?

no problem with desert camo in snow...just position it behind a cactus or a Joshua tree and no one will see it. .

It snows in the desert around here.

I have seen a foot of snow near Moab, UT.

I was in the Mohave desert for a year & a half....Camp (Fort) Irwin, CA ....we had an inch of snow one weekend....still walking around in T shirts in the afternoon. Amazing diff in temp from night/early morning to afternoon. There we had only 1;1 scale. Never been to UT.

I hung out a lot at Calaco... went to Goldstone too.... cut across a corner of Camp Irwin once to save time.

I would see a little snow out there too. I miss that desert.

Been to Calico a number of times...on the Borax Road...from Barstow to Death valley.

Man, that's one loooooong straight....hooooot road.

They DROVE 5 M-4A3E8 Shermans out on a Friday and positioned them as hard targets in 1959. 4 of us borrowed a set of batteries and a starter that had been removed from all of them the following Saturday AM and took a jeep out to look them over. We found one with over a half tank of gas,,,,,,mounted the starter and kick started it and spent the day running all over Camp Irwin with it. finally down the Borax Road to Death Valley. When the tank started to sputter, just a little off post on the downhill slope... we let it sit and let the gas drain down and maneuvered the Sherman sideways on the road, ran it totally out of gas..traversed the gun pointing down the road.....locked all top hatches and got out the excape hatch....and left it there. Don't know how long it sat there and what the upper echelon did, but it never got back to us.....we had an ultimate blast.

Photo look familiar?

That's a beauty! Any more pictures of it? We love pictures.

PC, I just spotted your pictures from Calaco. I have stood on that porch and leaned on that wagon!

It was years after your pictures, looking at the clothes, I'm about the age of the kid in the upper picture, or perhaps his little brother.
