Very nice, I like those.   Will it have a battle system?

I haven't planned on fitting a battle system, shes just for running around the battlefield so the public have something to look at between battles

I would love to see pictures or a movie of it when you do run it around.

What is the running gear from?

FINALLY....I'm doing something you haven't done already, Rex

The donor vehicle was a RTR rockcrawler I picked up cheap. I only used the wheels/axles/motors and modifed the steering.

here's the chassis I built

and I'm using this battery pack...

Nice, one of the most unerappreciated and underrated ACs of WW II. My big favorite after the Saladin.

WOW Rex,
Nice ...bet it can pivot at 50 MPH. and get first round hits full speed cross country. Hell just fire everything at once, and something is liable to hit....now build a 1;6 scale of it.

If my eyes get any weaker and my fingers get any stiffer I may have to move up to 1/6 scale. When I was a many decades younger I started with 1/76 and 1/72 tanks and have worked my way up (aged my way up?) to 1/16 scale. Tanks from the 1930s and 40s that had a bunch of turrets and guns on it are my favorites. IMHO, Ya can't beat beautiful beasts like the Russian T35 and German Neubaufahrzeug Nr3-5, just to mention a few.

How much ground clearance does that have? I mean, how much sticks (the power units) below the chassis/frame?

Thanks!

Oh... and that is sweet looking!

Clearance is pretty good, Jeff. The units are pretty self-contained and there's not a lot below axle height.

Well, if you get a chance take a quick measurement for me, that and the wheelbase too.

I saw it on eBay and you're right... pretty cheap.

Thanks Frank.

Well, no not yet... something with a turret.

I'm just starting to look into the RC world to RC my Kubels, so getting this will give me some idea of what I need. But this one came in only 49 and not 2.4. []

But I was looking at a Saladin since I have one in 1/35th.

Yours is looking sweet!

Oh... well 26 bucks and 7 to have it shipped is a good start after seeing it with the body off. This will give me some idea where to go from here.

I really wouldn't mind a 4WD Kubel now. No one will notice and doubt I'll take it anywhere.
