Default Taigen Stug III pics...

Well guys here's an update. Tony over at Big Boy Toys was a man of his word and sent me some pics of the new Taigen Stug that he justreceived the other day....Initial impressions are disappointing..basically just a standard HL with a nice paint-job...that's about it. Plastic everything for the most part with stock plastic chassis, suspension, wheels, etc, etc. .If Taigenthinks folks are going topay anywhere near/over $250 for this are sadly mistaken(especially without metal tracks and what-not). I was really hoping this would be more on par with the Tiger/KV-1(very nice tanks)...makes you wonder what the Panther is like?On a positive note the Taigen site shows two versions of Stug(same part numbers) but one is listed as a "Pro" version, which may have the "Full Metal"options/torsion-bar suspension we'd all be wanting. Not sure yet what the pricing will be but I'll update as soon as I know..

I would never pay a lot of extra $ for something that's just rebranded...

I'd still give Taigen a chance..they do have some good tanks(the full upgraded versions), but why they waste their energy on these base models(if that's what it is) is beyond me.....But that's why I've held off buying one till I knew EXACTLY what I'd be getting....If Taigen has one real weakness is that they give you no clear idea what comes with their tanks(specifically), nor do they show any pics like these so you can at least figure it out for yourself....till they do that they are going to have a lot tougher time making sales. After all, they seem to be trying to cater to us "tankers" and "details"are what we're all about lol..

Safe bet it comes with the new 2.4ghz system..Personally Id rather have RX-18(since I'd yank it anyways)and have all the metal upgrades..

You could get the asiatam lower from welshdragon for around $100, metal tracks for $80, the upper hull for $20 from forgebear and a tk22 another $80 = close to $280......$9 less then the taigen. Add a few metal details your looking at 300ish for a tank the way you want it = priceless.

Cheers

the best Taigens are the Tigers and the KV-1. Maybe once they have the torsion suspension on the rest they may be worth it but for now its a call you have to make on your own as a buyer.

Look to the early pricing for the Tigers and I think it will be close to it. This is particulatly new as they have been out for some time. We had this discussion some time ago on another forum. Basically TaiGen would make a tank to customers specifications but the MOQ was scary. TaiGen have a version of all the Heng Long tanks, although I've not seen the ZTZ in the catalogue.

I read somewhere he got three? I take it they were purchased from a US distributor then.

Indeed, they may have added additional upgrades recently but the last time I saw the parts catalogue there was not a lot of StuG parts. Are you smiletiny by the way?

can you purchase a Stug will the "full metal" option like the Tiger/KV-1? I'd still like to have the plastic upper hull but asiamtam style chassis & drivetrain..
