Say good-bye to winter & let's battle in Danville 3-22 to 24
Lets get the winter projects off the workbench and onto the battlefield at Danville next weekend.
Sound off on who is coming or not...lets hear what you have to say about past events or comments and questions about upcoming events.
**Don't worry if you do not have a battleready tank....I'll loan you one of mine.**
I has been a long hard cold winter and since NEAD had no snow to battle with, many NEAD club memebers are eager to fight next weekend. The HEAT guys prepped the field and things are looking great. Be sure to thank them for their hard work. DO NOT HESITATE to come next weekend.
The May event for the 10th Aniversary of the RC Tank battlefield will be the biggest tank event of the year. It replaces the April Extravaganza for 2013. Those of you who never made it to that event should now kick yourselves in the butt for not attending the event. You missed once in a lifetime opportunity at the AAF Tank Museum.
I am hoping to get some special events and hands on tank experiences just for the RC tankers at the 10th Aniversary event....so stay tuned.
For you guys who have been postponing at trip to Danville....well.... you have missed the Extravaganza's of years past. I hope they will return someday.
The RC battlefield is still there and waiting for realy big kids like us to come play.
GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND COME TO DANVILLE NOW!!!! If you can't make it next weekend then plan for May. But quit hitting the damned snooze button. This RC tank battlefield will not be around forever either. STOP PUTTING IT OFF. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON....SO PISS OR GET OFF THE POT!

I'm wishing for $1 a gallon gas too... but lets be realistic. I hope to see you in May Jeff.

Hey Bob,
How long is the drive from NJ? I have to make arrangements if I will be able to go soon. I am the driver for my elderly parents, so I need to get them taken care of before I can go for the weekend.

No problem that we know of.
I think the commander's urging to attend is in the sense of "Carpe Diem" or "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may..."
We are always pushing for more people to attend these events to promote the hobby and support the museum.
It is a unique experience, and after attending you will not think of the hobby the same way again.
Battledays on a field as large and complex as Danville, truly unleashes the potential of these machines.
Exciting battles, good people, a museum full of military history, and a lot of laughs.

From Edison it is about 6.5 to 7 hours. Straight down I 95 all the way to I 85 at Petersburg, VA. Then 85 southwest to 58 west right into Danville. If I have room perhaps we can travel together. Spliting the fuel and hotel costs are alwauys a big plus. The last time Scot and I made it we got a fantastic rate at the Inkeeper. I think it was under $50 for 2. I hope to leave Thrusday evening and return Sunday evening. I will PM you my cell number just to be safe.

Is there a problem with the continued existence of the Danville battlefield?

Dave,
Myself and Tony are ACE members and Tony lives in MD not PA. Also, don't believe Jake is coming to the March event and is not sure if he's going to support anymore
battle weekends that are TFA. He is planning on attending the May 10th anniversary since he was one of the original builders of the battlefield. It's been a couple weeks since I talked to him so things could of changed though.
