I just picked up the ATAK StuG III G 16A04 Upgrade kit. It has the Saukopf Manlet and Shot Deflector for the Commanders Cupola. I have attached photos of the kit parts. It is made for the Heng Long StuG III G to convert it to a late version. The Saukopf is hollow to allow the recoil and has the pins to hold it in place for the elevation axis. This makes it a plug and play replacement part. The only thing that needs to be done to it is filling in the four large retaining mold marks on the back side of the flat mantlet plate. You will see what I mean when you look at the photos. The Shot Deflector only needs a little bit of sanding and it is ready to install. For those who want the least amount of scratch building to convert their StuG to a late version I would suggest that you pick one of these up from ETO where I got mine. How's the resin? There's not a lot of movement on that pivot, it shouldn't be a problem unless it's very soft.

As with all of the Atak products, they are well made. I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the kit.

Ausf, the resin is not soft and is not brittle. It is sort of the consistency/tensile of nylon maybe? It is easy to trim but hard enough, imo, to handle the elevation axis.

I also have a Atak resin kit for my stug which I am about to start... I really like the Atak stuff its really well made..

That's cool. Did you do some sprocket and idler work or did that come with the kit too?

I have that late mantlet for my StuG... whenever I get to it.
