Default New RC user - HELP!

Purchased a new RC Battle Tank, the Leopard II A5 for my son. He was incredibly excited to have his first RC vehicle only to find out something's not right and it doesn't work.

After reading through the brief directions, I'm at a loss. I've charged the battery in the tank, replaced the battery in the remote. Changed and tried all A-B-C channels. I only get lights on the tank when I flip between channels, no other signs of life.

My guess is that it's possibly linked to programming the remote but I've tried nearly everything with that. I've followed the directions, turning the remote on first, then the tank and shutting down in reverse.

I'm at a loss and searching for suggestions. My son is crushed!!

I appreciate any and all ideas!!!
Not sure on the manufacture of your tank but with Heng Longs you need to press a engine start button on the controller after you do this

"turning the remote on first, then the tank"

It is the 1/24 Heng Long. Unsure of where an Engine Start button is on the controller. There is nothing with that label or one indicated in the instructions. I believe we've tried every button on the remote at least ten times

The 1/24 scale Heng long are not the best RC tanks in that scale. Vs tanks would have been a much better choice but the HL's can be good with a little help.
plenty of guys around here have 1/24 scale tanks myself included. they are alot of fun. Now dad just needs to get himself a couple, few, bunch like the rest of us.

Good video & our remote is exactly like the one in the video, only difference is the RC tank doesn't react at all. The orange light comes on the remote, not red to indicate it's safety locked.

I'm begining to think there may be an electronic issue even though the tank is brand new out of the box.

I did my time on the full scale version of the M1A1. Now I get to have fun watching and playing with my sons toys (when they work).

I would say to return it and go with a VS. They are better in that scale as Panth G said.

The first thing to do anytime a RC tank is troublesome is verify the battery has a good connection and is fully charged. Where in NY are you? I am 20 min from the GWB.

Again I'm no expert in the scale but, it sounds like a loose transmitter / receiver crystal... do they even have frequency crystals installed?
