Taigen Tiger turret with Asiatam recoil unit.
Hey all! These upgrade turrets have been out for a while but I've just started working on mine. Let me just say that they are REALLY nice. The metal barrel is awesome and the plastic moldings are top notch.
This is a new mold, so it's not a HL copy. The storage bin at the rear is a separate piece which makes painting a bit easier. Also means you won't be able to use a HL elevation unit.
I like the Asiatam recoil units. The heavy snap back of the barrel just rocks. I just wish I could figure out what they are wired for out of the box... at least with Clark you have to completely rewire everything. Took me about an hour to get it from the paint booth, assembled and working just fine though. Same setup as my Clark KV-2.
I like it and recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade their HL Tiger, especially coupled with a Clark board.

Took some pictures & a video showing off my new upgrades...
I'm glad to finally be able to fight with this tank again. It spent most of last summer sitting on the bench & now it's ready to sow fear ... :P

I like the cross bar you have in the front above the gearboxes, we now also include them on the Tiger 1 tanks standard
I have to say though, I REALLY like that weathering, it looks good.

Eric, I got it going great, except for the red wire with the black hood on it. I stuck it in a screw hole. My gun dosnt return when I fire straight ahead. When I turn the turret, it works perfectly.

I cut every single wire off and rewire it for a Clark board. I don't understand what the original wiring was designed for as it makes almost no sense at all. I'm sorry, I don't really know which wires you're talking about :P

What board are you using? The stock unit has the recoil and elevation units wired to each other and it seems very weird. Then there's that big thick red 'ground' wire that has nowhere to go on any board I can think of... if what you're using is even close to a Clark or Heng Long, just wire everything one item at a time and ignore what came on the unit itself.

Pax, I found this how-to here on RCU that explains the wiring if hooking it up to a regular Heng Long tank, in this case a PnzIII

You might be able to check your setup against this particular one and see if anything is out of whack. In related news I now have a better idea about the strange wiring!

Here are some wiring diagrams for you for the airsoft and infrared versions. This was taken out of the Tiger 1 kit manual and will most likely not be the final versions. We will however post the manual online so we can update it if needed. Once again you can always ask me for these if you ever need. Hope this helps
Edit: uploaded the v2 ones first, changed to v3 as they are much easier to read

Eric, you and the other members, that helped me were fantastic. Accor ding to your diagram, it just sits in the tank and like a ground I think. When I shoot, I just hold it back until the recoil finishes. But I have a friend that is coming who should know how to fix the recoil sticking, and the gun continuing the firing sound until the recoil finishes.
This is tank is my wife's favorite, but I didn't like the bright yellow, so. I painted dark grey, and black. Rusted it and dirtied it, and it came out to me fantastic. Now I will paint it primeer yellow, and when dirtied,it will look like it was in the desert. Thanks again
