Default Can DMD and MFUs be mixed?

I have the FO Sherman DMD and MFU in my T-34. I would like to get Russian sounds in it with the KV-1's MFU-06.

Is it possible or would I need the matching KV-1 DMD too?

Yes they can be mixed, less the T01. I have checked with Pershing, Sherman and M51

Plus you get recoil if wanted since Sherman MF doesn't have it.

Sweet, thanks guys.

I have servo recoil on it now and an extra Tiger recoil unit. I'm not sure I want to go poking around right now, but that may be a future operation.

JCRC has the MFU-06 for $142. I can hook up some lights then too.

All the MFU less the Sherman one have recoil. Even the M51.
The best one if you ask me is the Pershing as have lights function, but of course if you are looking for russian engines there is not other option in Tamiya range.

The KV/JS-2 one has functioning brake lights as well as the headlight. so it'll cover everything I want it to do.

I tried the JS-2's MF in the T-34 and it works perfectly. Great sound and since the JS-2 doesn't have a brake light, I'll use the harness in the T-34 and make a four SMD harness for the JS-2's running lights.

JS-2's engine is not the correct diesel engine for T-34 but close enough.

I figured it wasn't exactly, but better than a M4.

I just used all the Tamiya electronics for their KV-1 for my T-34's. I love the gear engagement function on it like the Pershing has and the engine sound is one of Tamiya's best I think. that DMD /MFU set up may be a little less expensive than the JS-2 also.
