Well after a tedious and eventful winter, I am back at the bench. Starting my Iwo Jima Sherman. Thanks Herman for the stack parts.

Unfortunately, Mom has pneumonia again and my Dads advanced Alzheimer's is keeping me hopping. I haven't been able to get away. Hopefully soon I will be able get to a battle day. Still want to go to Danville when I can. I still got to bring out my "Ferdi" for battle.

Just ordered the sand bags from Bob of ETO. Does anyone have some spare tracks they might want to sell? Need some for around the turret. Getting ready to tape off and prime. Will post pics when this step is done.
I'm going after the Black Jack theme

Are you using the standard tracks that came with it? If so, I can help you out, or with Mato, Tamyia plastic too.

Does anyone have pictures or drawings of the latches for the stacks? I've downloaded a couple technical manuals for the Sherman but they have no mention of the stacks( I can adjust and repair the injectors lol).

The rear of the stacks had a hinge /clip that was easy to let snap open from the weight of the stack. The front ones had a pin holding them together with a cord or wire up to the commanders hatch. He could pull the wire and the hatches would lean back and come off without anyone having to leave the tank. I will have to look for pictures.

Very good work.

I'm curious about your historical source. I wasn't aware that the Marines used paint camouflage on any of their tanks during WWII. I thought they left them OD green.
