Default Heng Long 2 A6 Can.

After getting the mechanics all worked out (which included speeding up the turret rotation) I focused on Canadianizing the HL Leopard.

First picture is the Slow motion servo elevation, and then A shot of the internal layout.

Lipo Battery

Amp

Speaker

DBC3/Benedini TBS/ Receiver

RX18 is mounted between the gear boxes and a fan installed. I don't normally do this, but with the high torgue motors, 12+ pounds, and metal track with Rubber pad inserts there can be a lot of current draw.

I made some maple leaf decals, gave it a coat of paint, and then detailed it.

Canadian Antenna's installed as well as some roof top electronics and a locker.

Back to the shop to fine tune the Benedini. Going to change the volume ratio between the cannon and the engine as well as make the turret sounds quieter.

Yes Sir!

Im Definitely Liking Your Leo...

Are you using Legos there for the Elevation Servo mounting platform?
Very Cool.

Just opened up my Leo 2A6 last night... First Time.
Added a set of Matomart Metal Idlers and Sprockets...

I'm drawing a Lot of inspiration from your Setup and Video...

Need to get an order in with you for one of your DBC3/Benedini TBS setups...

Best Regards,

-gus

Great work indeed. Where did you get the accessories from - the antennae mounts/weapons box/ecm boxes? The video is incredible as well, 12+ pounds in weight!

I built those and am planning on doing some resin copies.

Battle Armor may offer this tank set up as a RTR offering with the all the electronics and upgrades done in the future,.

Here is a quick video showing the improved turret rotation speed that is necessary on a modern MBT

Looks great. Did you get early access to one of Taigen's 360 turret rings? How did you speed up the turret rotation? Different motor?

Slip rings are not that expensive anymore...When I bought mine 3 years ago, I paid around $30.00 of shipping...

I used the HL mechanism and changed the layout . The motor is mounted vertically and engages primary gear with a differnt pinion gear. No slip ring. I can wrap this thing about three turns, before wires start pulling out. I just don't do that.
