Default Waltersons gearboxes

I got a Waltersons gearbox set with all the gearpuller stuff about a year ago from I have forgotten where. The box says it should fit
the 3859 Panzer IV. Well the base plate doesn't even come close to fitting. I went to there website and it is pretty messed up.
I just sent them an email to order a correct baseplate. I hope I get an answer. Does anyone know if Waltersons is still in business????

Yes Waltersons is still in business, Fitting the Panzer IV was a mistake when the boxes were first released. In order for the base plate to fit 2 notches have to be cut into the plate or the front screw post has to be removed from the Pz IV.
Its the only way they fit. Base plates have not been corrected but when the new production of the bearing, steel gears boxes are finished new base plates will be offered that will fit Pz Iv lowers.

HI, do you know if they will be offering a base plate for the TAIGEN TIGER 1 so that their gearboxes will fit with out the engineering that presently has to be done. shaun

Jarndice A base plate for Taigens will not be needed as Taigen already has a base plate in their metal tanks. Their will be new holes drilled into the Walterson frame so you can use them inside a taigen tank though. I have requested several times that they make them Taigen and Torro compatible. Last e-mail I recieved they have said they will be drop ins to the Taigen

The reason I asked is because the WALTERSONS BRASS GEARBOXES do not fit on the TAIGEN TIGER 1 metal hull base plate, They come with a base plate, but that is for the HENG LONG TIGER 1 hull. shaun
