Default HL Leopard 2A6 Emitter Placement???

If anyone here has set an HL Leopard 2A6 up for IR, I would be interested to know where and how you mounted the IR Emitter.

Thanks

I was wondering if you can get the emitter recessed at least 9mm from the front end of its housing in that location.

Our club requires that an emitter must be recessed a minimum of 9mm inside its tube; I was eyeing up that location would provide that.

I don't have an HL Leopard to examine, I am checking some stuff out about them before I buy.

May have to extend an IR bulb tube out a bit from that recess, but don't think it would be too much of an eye sore once you get some paint on it. Think you may be able to fit the bulb and tube in that recess though with a bit of dremel work, that's where the IR is located on the tammy.

Dan

Thanks, thats very helpful.

Usually I like a more discreet installation but sometimes that is not possible, that doesn't look too bad to me, it is something I would install.

Just a general question for anyone out there, how does the Tamiya address the usual 9mm emitter recess requirement without an extended tube?

It's mounted in the absolute back of that recess. check out step 51, pg 31.
