Hey Gary,
Squadron's been around for quite a while and is familiar to most of our guys with static backgrounds. Another good one is scale hobbyist, and also try sprue brothers. The mainly static stores like these are a great source for figures, stowage and other accessories. I'm signed up for emails from most of them so they notify me of sales. Squadron once had a sale on static halftracks for $132 and that's the best I've seen on that kit (trump).
Good find, and I'm glad you posted this. I usually forget that not all our members are also static guys.

That's funny, they've been selling Hobby Engine stuff for about two years now, but I never though of posting it here.
I guess I just considered them too toy-like, but they're probably better than HL and if Squadron (one of the two main styrene distributors in the US) is handling them, they must have good QC because constant returns will not fly.
Squadron is the retail arm of MMD, which coupled with Stevens International is responsible for supplying the styrene to every shop in the country. So if there were major problems with the tanks, they'd hear it and drop them in a second. Hobby Engine also makes boats and construction equipment too.

I really like that you can search their site (squadron) by scale. You guys all know how hard it is to look for just 1/16 scale at most hobby shop sites. I wish sprue brothers would add that feature.
As for Hobby Engine, I'd have to agree. They've been selling them for quite a while now. In fact, they once sent me an email, for one of those 24 hour sales and they offered me the top of the line HE Abrams for 75 bucks! (usually a little over 2 bills) Like a fool I passed and you know they never made the offer again. If they do I'll jump, just to see what happens.
