I think I'm getting the sense of skepticism reading this thread considering the history but who knows maybe this time they'll really do it...
http://www.mmodell.de/forum/index.ph...-Metal-Origin/
......looks really good but I'll believe it when I have one on my table.
Also if you attempt to go to www.metalorigin.de you get redirected to Xion.de so so far this isn't looking promising but rather a tease.... :-(

I gotta contact SCAT and find out if Ron finished that Puma. He is definitely a master modeler and I would love to see how he solved the suspension, steering and r/c stuff. I really hope that Puma got developed further. I started one with delusions about building an operational Puma back in 2009, but I quickly discovered that was beyond my skill level and capabilities. It ended up having a crude pivoting rubber band suspension (no springs) and no steering at all. I'm tempted to take a shot at rebuilding the lower half with some operational capabilities that would at least allow it to run around on the dirt. I think I could do 4 wheel drive in back and 4 wheel steering up front. I learned a lot (made all of my mistakes) when I did my T18 Boarhound that way last year.
I have looked at the photos that Jerry posted a dozen times and I think the drive train, suspension and steering are incredible pieces of engineering design. The fact that it is 1/16 scale unbelievable to me. Yikes !!!

Hey Rex, if there's anything we can make over here, if you make patterns for suspension parts I'll cast 'em for ya; just come on over.
If all goes to plan I should have a 1/10 scale Puma in April- May.

There are 1,593 things on my "Someday I'm gonna build this" list already. A redo of my old Puma is project 1,594. I don't think I'll be getting to it any time soon.

I have photos similar to Ethan's from Jan 2007 and Oct 2008. From what I remember, Ron used four sets of steerable RC car/truck suspension. Wish I had gotten some interior shots.
Ron must have finally finished his kit, because it wasn't unusual for him to finish a new project (like his KV-1) only to have someone announce a kit a short while later

Is that a Chaffee I spy?
The finished tank is Rich's from a 2005 battle at The Littlefield museum.
...... now back to the PUMA!
