Default tk22 for taigen tank

dear fellow tankers,

i have a taigen airsoft tank and i wished to replace the board with tk22.

my question is: can the tk22 be configured to fire the main turret gun with sound but without airsoft unit firing; and turning the unit back on? i just don't want my kids fire the cannon by accident with bbs on it; or have them 'dry fire' the airsoft unit.

your kind replies are greatly appreciated.

I believe you can simply install a switch along the airsoft motor power wires. The stock HLs already have this switch implemented. On my Panzer III, it's located in the cupola.

the tank comes with the switch already in the cupola, but once it's turned off - both the airsoft unit and sound are off. i just wished that the airsoft unit can be turned on and off while keeping the main gun sound on.

thanks for looking in and for your reply.

HI OlegnA,

I am using the TK22 but not with airsoft. I think you don't have to do anything, just connect the airsoft unit to the TK22 (do the mod in the Clark site for the airsoft if you want), As long as a speaker is connected to the TK22, you will hear the main gun firing sound regardless of whether the airsoft switch is on or off. I say that because I can test the TK22 sound even without the turret connected. You will need a hobby grade radio though.

The Dx5 is a great entry level radio, simple, no computer or programming and it's reliable, and pretty cheap.

The Orange systems from HobbyKing are also popular and inexpensive. $6 per receiver is nice!
