Default HobbyRaw Questions

I have a question. On February 6th, I ordered the updated gear boxes and metal sprocket set for my HL Abrams from Hobby Raw. I periodically checked and noticed that nothing had moved in the order. I allowed for the weekend etc. I contacted them and on the 14th received a tracking number from them. I have checked the tracking number and it shows that on the 16th it cleared export customs for air shipment. Since then nothing. It has sat for 5 days somewhere in China. I regularly order hobby items from other shippers in China and have not had this happen. I know some of you on here have used Hobby Raw. What has your experience been?

Thanks.

As Herman stated, New Year, but add to that the West Coast port strike and everything's messed up, even if you're going by air, so are a lot more than usual.

When I used to import Voyager, they'd shut down the entire operation for two weeks around New Year so their employees could travel home.

Shipping can be REALLY weird. Just recently I had a package sit in Chicago for about 6 days, and I still have no idea why that happened. All you can do is be patient (something I'm REALLY NOT good at) and wait for it to show. If you really want to hear some horror stories about shipping just talk to Erik.

Besides what was told about the Chinese new year.
I have ordered from them many times, Always was little slow.
The last one was rejected in the Chinese customs because they no longer allow to ship the batteries ( which should be shipped through Singapore)
The parcel returned to Hobbyraw and all this delayed the parcel for about two months.
Finally I bought the kits at ebay, but what it's important Hobbyraw refunded me the full payment even after the 45 days paypal covers the transactions, so the guy are honest in that way.
I will not worry about but be patient.

It took me 2 to 3 weeks to get both of my orders from them, 2 tanks and 2 sets of tracks. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat and if it IS their New Years, just wait an additional 7 to 14 days... it'll be there!

They are slow. I have ordered three times from them now, and the stuff has always showed up.

Just checked tracking again it is still sitting in export customs. I have contacted them and asked them to inquire about it. It has been sitting since the 16th, Even with the new years, this seems excessive. I will keep posted.

My IBU2 sat in Chicago for 10 days because of customs. This is the drawback to ordering internationally, it takes forever. It's been 12 days since I paid for the clark package from Matomart and that still says it's in china and the "origin post is preparing the shipment".

in an age of 2 day shipping it can be hard for us to remember that whenever ordering anything from out of the country that the whole process can be much slower. I'm guessing that the Chinese New Year is the main reason that you haven't gotten your package yet. Think of it like this you run a shipping company in the United States. Small company and your the only one that does the shipping. now you go on vacation for two weeks. the down side is that your company is still getting orders in. After two weeks you get back and BOOM! two weeks worth of shipments waiting to get processed, checked, and shipped. it is probably going to take you some time to work throught all the stuff that came in those last two weeks. plus you still have orders coming in every day. Now magnify that small mess by 1000. uge backlog of items that all need to be checked, processed, packaged, shipped.

I know it sucks I have stuff that is still overseas stuck some where not doing anything but waiting. I think that this might be the worst part of our hobby. knowing that when you order a simple part it can still take upwards of a month or more sometimes to get it. And that is a month or more of tanking you can't do.

Agreed. It would be great if there was a source on this side of the world for these gearboxes. . The HL Ultimate gearboxes appear to do a great job.

Erik, oh heck yes. I know I need a set to get more speed out of the Abrams. I'm not complaining about the gearbox you all installed Erik, is awesome, It really is a WWII tank speed though. If you could get them before mine get unstuck in China, I would definitely buy a set from you and then have the others for backup.

Because of Chinese new year they wouldn't even let me order the clark package until the end of February.

Erik, 1410S. Save me at least 5.

And is the 1411L what's in the Abrams?
