Default T81 Track for a HL M26 Pershing

Hi Tankers,
I put in a post about external stowage on the M26 Pershing in Koln and Operation Zebra, some time ago. Your input was very helpful, thanks! Where can purchase T81 track for a 1/16 HL Pershing? I have heard of Impact, are they worth while, and are they expensive. Thanks in advance!

http://mitosal.com/m26pershing.html

I googled impact t81 1/16 tracks and got this in about 3 seconds. I may have to razz you about that, but it will be good natured.

I know nothing about this vendor, but they may be listed in the sticky.

Anybody else ever use this vendor, or know where to get these tracks for less?

The Impact ones don't fit the HL pershing, they are intended for the Tamiya. You'll need to do more than just file a second flat on the drive shafts - the narrower T81 tracks need a longer shaft.

Found some cheap ones too.

I search around for them from time to time. I have even seen someone use KV-1 tracks with the sprockets off of a M41 Bulldog. It's not 100% accurate, but it looks close.

That or I've also seen someone use the Sherman T-66 tracks and sprockets. They are slightly different then the T-81's But they are closer then the KV-1's.

The Impact tracks (mitosal) will work on HLs if you get the Impact gearboxes. They won't work on HL gearboxes. My PzIV and PzIII tracks are Impact and they are great tracks. I would recommend considering them. Just note the issues they bring since they are made for Tamiya.

Kenny Kong makes some as well. I believe that they are made to work on both HL and Tamiya. Hobby Summit is probably his eBay handle. He also has his own website (www.kennysmodeltank.com).

Both makers are in the manufacturer's sticky.

Oh, don't use KV-1 tracks. I've seen that attempted and it's a blight on otherwise great work.
