Default wondering about the possibility of building a 1/16 scale P1000 Ratte tank

at this stage i am at the design phase of my build and i am starting with the bogie system i am thinking a wheel design like these i would have done torsion bars but i need three tracks on one side

hear if started with measurements on my design to get a idea on how big a bogi system might be

If you haven't already seen this, here is a built in 1/35 scale. He has gone through a lot of design effort on the wheels and tracks, which might help you with your planning. Also, I believe that his is around 4 feet long, and that's in 1/35. http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?...=214353&page=1

Just out of curiosity, I looked up the dimensions of the Ratte tank and found out that it would have been 115 feet long if it ever got built.


My trusty calculator tells me that a 1/72 scale model would be 19.16 inches long. That's real close to a 1/16 Abrams tank.


Are you sure about a 1/16 scale project? That's about a 7.2 foot
hull, 8 feet guns forward.

ya i think so i think i might give casting a good look to cut cost down a little


if it gets to big than i can always scale down its still a paper tank for me too but i think the hardest part will be the turns
