Hi, The standard plug on a HENG LONG Tank is a TAMIYA,
The plug that comes with your battery is not really a problem as adaptors are readily available. Depending on where you buy your new battery some dealers will offer to change the plug if you tell them what you want.
But What type of battery are you thinking of using instead of the NICAD/NIMH that comes with the Tank, A lot of people use LI-PO's,
There is plenty of information about them if you read through some of the past pages.

Looking for run time go with a Lipo. 2 cell only and don't forget to use a lipo alarm. I run 3000mah lipos in my HL and Taigen tanks.

I'm guessing you checked the size of the battery against the size of the battery space available?
