i.e., M41 Bulldog tracks? Money's a little tight right now, but I'm intrigued. Tell me more.
Scale means what? Fit HL's tank or true to 1/16 scale (HL's tank is too wide.)
Rubber pads?
Closed pin or open pin?
Etc...

would be true scale at 33.3mm and based on the T91E3 track, pins would be same as Heng long but shorter and removable. the heng long pitch is correct so that would be the same. you would need to narrow your drive wheel. fenders and such. goal is to make M41 more to scale. would also provide tracks for duster and bradley

Hi X19912
I'd be interested in a set to try, but I'd prefer that the pins were the Taigen version which are thicker than the Heng Longs. Were there going to be rubber pads? If not, I'd prefer to have an "X" embossed into the middle of the metal pad - that would allow a decent keying surface for adding coats of What A Job (WAJ) http://www.chirienterprise.com/Job-I...ob-Indust.html to simulate the rubber pads. HL Track to the left, Taigen to the right - thicker track pins are evident HL Track - WAJ Antislip left, WAJ Smooth centre, Standard HL Plastic track right

Okay, thanks. I'd be interested if HL corrected their Bulldog (or Taigen did it for them). But, I've got too many other projects to do that much hack job on my Bulldog.
Those Taigen tracks are much nicer.

Hi X19912
Finding an accurate print/drawing of the track is not easy. Apart from all the 1/35 scale entries, there's this - http://www.tgl-sp.com/m79-track-shoe-assy -
Good pic of a 1/35th track

if you could measure a pin with a caliper great, do you know if Tiagen plastic tracks has different pin sizes?
I am waiting on heng long plastic tracks to do some comparisons.
I will try to incorporate as much detail into the track first go round, looks like moving guide pin forward and ensuring there is space for fastener behind to attach track pad.
Does that make sense or would all metal track work with track pad added as adhesive unit?

Hi x19912
Tried to measure the Taigen pins, but my electronic caliper's battery was dead. Plastic calipers give 1mm +, but compared to a 1mm drill bit, its thicker, whereas it's thinner than a 1.5mm drill bit. Possibly around 1.2 - 1.3mm.
I've only got Taigen metal tracks, so don't know if the pins on their plastic ones are the same. Erik might pitch in here?
Adhesive track pad - would depend on how good the adhesive holds. Experimentation is probably the order of the day?

Well found a manufacturer of the T91E3 track in correct scale. Cost per set +20 links looks to be $345 US excluding shipping. lowest cost so far. These are really nice nickel sllver tracks with rubber shoes instlalled.
manufacturer is AFV,com. These tracks are used on MLRS and Bradley so these models may help keep track in production. I submitted a ticket to see if an all metal track could be produced at around $100 plus shipping.
Not alot of hope for a 2/3 cost reduction. but we will see. best bite so far.

Hi x19912
Hmm $345 US is much too rich, but will wait & see what eventuates.
Hi Erik - thanks for providing that measurement. I see there are a couple of solar powered venier calipers on the net, may have to add one to the list.

Np of course. That might be a good idea too, here in Florida it would definitely stay charged!

These guys make really good stuff, but they also charge for it. Not sure that the price will come down at all.
Take a look at at their M2 HMG. Another example of their fine work.
